my vacuum break :(

I don't know why I use any other vacuum besides a shopvac. They just break. I was vacuuming and it got caught on the edge of a blanket, and it broke the belt. It wasn't a very pretty scene. How often do you go through vacuums? What causes them to break on you? Does this happen to you much? Should I just stick to shop vacs?

I've had the same vac for years and years. Replace the belt on it. I've even replaced the brushes on mine. Easy peasy.
