Milk...How do you like your milk?

I was sitting down to one of those long nights where no matter what, I just cannot get myself to go to sleep.
So I got up and got me a cup of milk from the fridge.
Now, it got me thinking about something I read a while back.
Some people love to drink milk. And most of them will welcome milk at anytime of the day. Cold and straight from the carton.
I prefer to have mine in a glass.
How do you like your milk?
Straight from the carton, cold?
Or cold in a glass like me?
Or do you prefer your milk warm? You will take the effort to heat up the milk?
Is cow's milk your only choice when it comes to milk?
Do you like it full cream or condensed?
How about evapourated milk? Do you like that in your beverages?
There are also a whole host of different milk on the shelves.
Let's see, there is milk powder.
And then there is goat's milk. And in some places, water buffalo's milk.
Then there is the vegetarian friendly kind like soy milk, black bean milk, oat milk, wheat milk, rice milk... etc.
Which is your favorite? What is your preference for milk?

I like milk in all forms except for goat's milk because it's very strong in smell and taste.. hehe ^_^
Other than that, cold or hot or warm milk are fine with me.. Drinking it from the carton straight or pouring it out in glass or cup, they taste the same to me.. But drinking from carton is more of a convenience and provided that i'm drinking that alone.. haha =D
Condensed and evaporated milk are fine for me too, as that's what i learned to drink when i was a kid, since fresh milk is quite expensive then ^_^ hehe

Yeah... me too!
I have not really tried goat's milk yet, so I cannot really say if it is good or not.
Cos if I only wanna try, 1 litre is too big a carton for me to get.
Cos in the home, I am the only person who like to eat goat products. Goat's cheese. Goat's meat.
So if it too strong and I don't like, I am gonna have a hard time trying to finish it!

If you were to ask me to choose from the varieties of how milk can be served, mine would be simple. Just straight from the fridge, cold and plain, without vanilla, chocolate or worse banana flavourings! Either full cream or skim milk is fine. So far I've never heated up my milk, and I don't mind goat's milk too, but it must be chilled and plain. Hmm condensed milk is too sweet and thick for me, while evaporated is completely tasteless. How about skim milk powder? Well it's also part of an ingredient in bread, biscuits, MILO etc. Since I've a known but not serious allergy to milk (not sure about goat milk), I can't drink it everyday. Soy milk and oat milk are good also, but I'd have them unsweetened. So no special preference for milk. Hmm how about camel's milk?

Camel's milk? I have heard of it. I have seen it on TV.
But never really tasted it before.
If I got the chance, I wouldn't mind trying.
Here where I am, it is not going to be available. And even if it does, it is gonna be VERY expensive! Something that I wouldn't want to try if I have to break a piggy bank for it!

Hi ahgong,
I was a milk person when growing up. I only tasted coffee during my college days! Every night, my mother will make us hot milk before sleeping. Powdered milk for us. Nido, in particular.
Now that i am a mother, I still have powdered milk all the time for my twin daughters. When eating "champorado" (chocolate rice pudding),powdered milk is often used. For desserts, we also use powdered milk to mix with banana plantain in syrup.
You should try it one of these days, it's cool and refreshing!

You should try "champorado," you won't regret it.

hello ahgong! I am not really that fond of drinking milk. It's even ok with me without drinking milk in one month. But I would like my milk to be cold than hot.
My mom usually buy milk powder.

i dont really like drinking milk, but i love the condensed milk for my bread.. for me to drink milk it has to be mix with cereal first.. i used powdered milk as replacement for cream for my coffee if cream is not available at home. i havent try drinking fresh cow, goat or carabao's milk but they say it is tastier than the one available in the market..

Powdered milk to replace creamers. Why didn't I think of that?!?
I too love condensed milk. And I love it with Milo or coffee or tea!
They are best served with tea! And add to it evaporated milk, even better!
Yes, milk with cereals are good too! I have them a lot as well!

Carton cow milk is the best but because the price has gone up tremendously my husband and I both settled for powdered milk. We drink FernLeaf Kuat powdered milk. I always make a big mug and put it in the fridge to let it get chill then take out and mix it with oats, nestum and wheat germ (To anyone who reads this respond - if you try this concoction, try it at your own risk as it will make you go to the toilet). For me at first when I took it I went to the toilet but after a few rounds of this I am okay already. Stomach got used to it. Another thing is of course full cream milk powder is much much nicer but due to price hike we just take the normal kuat formula which has more calcium. I have only tried soy milk, evaporated milk and condense milk other than cow milk. Goat, oat wheat rice milk have not tried before. Rice milk??? Hmm...never heard before. In my opinion condense milk is not very healthy as it is sweet. I have used evaporated milk to substitute for coconut santan before when cooking curry chicken once. Just this year January, my husband and I went outstation and the hotel we stayed in had free buffet breakfast for two. There was the milk dispenser with dutchlady carton milk. Hoyo.....I don't remember how many glasses we drank. I practically stood next to the milk dispenser and drank a glass then refill again........my face skin had to be a bit thick that time....didn't bother who was looking as I was enjoying the milk. Heheheh......I love to drink milk and if only the price of carton milk would come down I'd go grab a few. But for now is powdered milk.

ha ha ha ha ha... I have yet to experience the difference in the price of milk powder to be so vastly different that I have to resort to one over the other.
Cos the price of fresh milk and powder is about the same. Both are equally expensive!
Rice milk is made from boiling milk till there is a thick consistency and then strained for that smooth texture. Much like how you make wheat milk or Soy Milk. Difference is you use rice instead.

Most of the time, when I do make it, I use brown rice. Takes a lot longer to cook cos it is tougher than the regular rice.
Add a teaspoon of sugar and your favorite fruit or beverage like Milo and it makes for a very good meal substitute!

i like chilled fresh milk and poured in a transparent glass.
I don't really like my milk warm unless it's in milo. But there again, i prefer iced milo. So i'm really into cold stuff. ONly when i'm sick, then i'm into the warm stuff.
And whenever i buy milk, i normally go for the low fat ones. Not that there is any taste difference to me.

Ah... very much like me in terms of preference for milk.
But there is a vast difference in the taste between low fat milk and full cream milk.
So, I usually go for the full cream ones. Unless of course, they are not available, then I will go for the low fat ones.
