Would you respect people regardless of religion, race and status? Why? What's your strong reason for doing or not doing that? Share and let know your views!

I respect people if they are respectable.I dont respect people just because someone else respects him/her...for me respect is something that a person earns and cant be imposed.I would respect anyone irrespective of caste, greed, religion if he/shes has earned it.

Hi Walnut. Thanks for sharing your views. Respect if and when imposed loses it's value by definition. One respect is earned and it's hard to receive it. While the other respect is one value that has been given us by God the Creator freely and equally regardless of where and who we are. Keep sharing your views. It's nice!

Hi Tamron. Thanks for sahring. I agree with you that respect is earned. I would say that there are two type of respect. Just like you said, one respect is earned and the other everyone man has it by virtue of being a created human being. God created all men equal and all men deserve respect regardless of race, status and religion. And this respect is ingrained in the person you and me just because God Himself gave us freely equally. Keep sharing your views. I like it!

Hi, bekosfc. Welcome to myLot.
I believe myself to be very respectful of others regardless fo religion, race and status..... almost to a fault. I don't always get the respect in return that I give out, but that is the offenders loss and not my own.
My strong reason for feeling this way? All people are equal, we all arrived here in the same way and will leave in the same way. It just makes sense to me to view others as my equals.

Hi Making. Thanks for sharing your views. I agree with your view. I do believe also that all men are created equal by the same Creator and deserve respect in that sense. But some man are more respected and some less in the society. And I think it's fair to do that. Because some people earned respect as they live by their life and some don't live upto a respectable standard. By virtue of creation all men derserve respect because disrespect to another human being would in the first place means disrespect to the One who created man. Keep sharing your views. You've got a good point of view. Appreciate it!

Thank you for the best response, bekosfc.
I appreciate you views as well. I do agree that society predicts that some people obtain more respect than others, I also believe that society is only a small portion of what makes for a meaningful life. While I give some people the respect they have 'obtained' as it pertains to existing at peace in society, I am aware that as a person they are still my equal and as a person I would treat them as I do others.

I respect all people. I become disheartened when other people do not respect each other. The only way the rights of the individual can be maintained is if there is mutual respect and understanding. Every one should be able to be their own person as long as that person respects others and does not prevent others from also being their own person.
