We have all used pain killers at one point in our life. Most of the time, it is to sooth a headache that just wouldn't go away. Otherwise, it is for those aches and pains that we feel after some rigourous training or exercise regime.
So the question is, Do you like to take pain killers for your pain ailments like headaches, backaches, muscle aches... etc. As long as there is pain, the first thing you do when you head for the medicine cupboard is to get pain killers to sooth that pain.
Or do you try to bear with it till you cannot stand the pain before you turn to pain killers to relieve some of that pain you are suffering from?
If not, what else do you use the pain killers for?

This is the only medication that can be easily bought over the counter and does not need doctor's prescription. Though it is quite dangerous to self treat by just popping in painkillers but they are instant cures for minor ailments and I have all along resorted to painkillers to sooth my migraine. There are wonder pills for people who think they have no serious medical complains. It is the fast food for minor pains.

i do not like to take pills for anything unless i have to. i will try as hard has i can to deal with it for as long as i can before i take anything. you can get addicted to the pain pills if you take them too much. and your body gets use to taking them, and then you will have to take more and more before they will work and take away your pain. because i don't take pills that often, it doesn't take much at all for me to get rid of a headache or a toothache

As a rule I don't like it very much. Either painkillers or any other medication. I usually tend to wait a bit before running for a painkiller, except when I have my migraines because I know that if I don't take care of them right away they just get worse.
I usually try other things than painkillers first. Relaxation, resting, home remedies etc. and only take the pain medication if nothing else works and if the pain is severe.

Hi ahgong,
The answer is no.
I try to avoid western medicine because they tend to cause side effects, whether known or unknown.
So I normally avoid medicine till I really can't stand it.

I have an illness that causes almost constant pain. There are times where its just an annoyance, and times when its unbearable. When the pain level ramps up I take the prescribed pain medications my doctor gives me. But, I only take them when I really need them. Some days I don't take any at all. Other days I may need two or three. Headaches are no big deal for me since I'm used to alot more pain in other areas.

I'm fairly healthy and dont suffer much with pain. I do however sometimes get a bad headache. I try not to take painkillers until the pain reaches a level where it is interfering with my daily life. Quite often after an hour or two the headache goes away on its own. If it seems as though it is going to go on all day then I take painkillers. Any doctor will tell you that overuse of painkillers is not a good thing, for one thing you can get addicted to them and also some irritate the lining of the stomach and can cause internal bleeding. Take care.

When i got a fever i used to drink more of water and kept my body busy at work co'z if i lay down or rest i felt more worst.

I really avoid taking pain killers as they aren't healthy and give you only a temporary relief. However, if I am in deep pain and it becomes intolerable I might go ahead and get some painkillers. I am not a pill popper and take medicine only when my condition deteriorates. Have a nice day!

No I dont like to take pain killers for my ailment. I think we must avoid to take medicines as much as possible for a healthy living. If possible we must try to bear the pain. If it is unbearable then we should first go for some home made medicines. Headache, backache, muscle ache are the aches which can be cured if we apply some oinment on the suffering part of our body .Like if we have head ache we can apply some balm on our head or if we have back ache we can apply some spray through which we can get relief of pain. So what i suggest is that we should avoid taking medicines as much as possible.

I myself have chronic pain and I instead of taking a pain killer which has a narcotic base. I take 1000mg tylenol and 400mg of ibrebrofrin together and I truly find this to work quite well if taken when sympton first start. This is also a great remesy for toothaches.

Other than taking panadols for headaches, i dun take any other painkillers.. hehe ^_^ Because i dun really believe in them in the first place.. Painkillers are only a temporary solutuion to pain and they dun help much..
PLus, when one takes painkillers for long period of time, they take be immune to it and they will need to eat more the next time, in order to combat the pain.. As for myself, regardless what pain i'm going thru, i will just endure it, or make it more painful so that i'm numbed to it.. lol =D

i live with aches and pains most days and only take ibuprofen when i just cannot get rid of a headache, like yesterday. i am very careful not to take it too often. i think people overuse this and tylenol (acetaminophen) assuming that because it is over the counter it is perfectly safe but it is not the case and all medications have side effects and consequences if not taken properly.

I don't take much pain relievers because some brands i do have allergies. And the most of the pain killers i used from the past was really strong that i am having a difficult time like breathing, itchy allergic reactions and more.
If i have headache, i don't have to take anything, i will just leave it as is. I would drink herbal medicinal treatment only and not depend on headache pills or tablets.
Good thing that headache don't take long and i will be healed thanks also to God when he hears my prayers.

Three days ago, I just took two piece of pain killer medicine to relieve my collywobbles. Luckily, except such situation, I never take this kind medicine for other pains, such as headache, backaches and stomachache. It's better to take less medicine. Hope you have a nice day!
