hello everybody here at Mylot. i have been in so much pain since Friday. i have another loose tooth on the top upper back of my mouth. and i think that it might be absessed as well. the top of the roof of my mouth on that side is swelled and been hurting and i have also had a slight touch of an ear ache. i am staying home from working today to call around town and see if i can find an affordable Dentist that i can go see. i cannot stand to go on like this in pain. so tell me, have you ever had to have a tooth pulled before? or have you ever had a tooth that has gotten absessed before? also, when was the last time that you went to the Dentist? and what did you have done? thanks for sharing and have a beautiful day today!

I'm a former dental assistant. If you are having trouble getting in to see a dentist, you may want to get a prescription from your general physician for an antibiotic in the meantime. The tooth seems to have a major abscess if it is loose. A dentist will want to get the infection under control a bit before he extracts. An abscessed tooth is to be taken seriously. Any infection so near the brain is potentially harmful! I hope you are able to get things taken care of! Good luck!

Oh TnWoman, I am SOOO sorry to hear about your tooth! I have had only one root canal in my life, and the drama for that went on for years and I ended up having the tooth pulled and replace with an implant. Getting the tooth pulled was what I should have done in the first place! I have heard from so many people since I got the root canal, that it wasn't worth it in the long run, because you always seem to lose the tooth in the end anyway, and it is thousands of dollars to get on done, if you incluse the crown afterward. Then if you need an implant, my God, you are spending another 4000 on it! I hope you find a good dentist, and that you get some good pain meds. I know tooth pain is the worst. I would rather give birth without anesthesia!!! Good luck to you and have a beautiful day yourself!

Boy, a bad tooth ache freaks me out. I'd never wish to have one. I hope Rhonda, you are able to find a dentist quickly and get your loose and abscessed tooth fixed because it is a real discomfort to be in pain all day, and furthermore you can't eat properly too. I do not have very nice and straight teeth, but at least in all my years, I've never had a single tooth pulled out. That's probably because I see my dentist regularly every six months, and these visits help me keep my teeth in good healthy state. I do have a wisdom tooth though, but my dentist feels that as long as it doesn't bother me, I should just keep it there. My dentist usually tells me that if we maintain our teeth regularly, it can last us till our 70s and 80s.

i had tooth that hurt so bad before and went to the dentist. but i didn't want to go to the dentist at first though i know it will not really hurt that much to have tooth extraction. but i was just afraid of dentist sometimes though. or of the needles that they will put into my gums with anesthesia. and my teeth and gums was so much in pain that the pain radiated into my head. that i could feel that my head hurt so much. and the pain will just happen every night. i would like to bang my head against the wall because of the pain. but still didn't go to the dentist hoping it will not occur again or the pain will not be back. but every night the pain will appear for 4 days before i finally went to the dentist early one morning. after that i was pain free. and the tooth extraction was so painless and didn't feel any thing at all. so i realized how foolish i was to bear that pain just because of some foolish fear.

I have a lot of tooth problems so I stay close to my Dentist, I am also paying for his brand new office. This is the most expensive part of my health care right now. I'm sorry for your pain, I know just what you are feeling and it ruins your whole life when in that kind of pain. Good Luck

I'm lucky I have never had an abcess. The last time I went to the dentist was in September 2008 for a check up. There was nothing wrong so the dentist just polished them. In the UK if you are on benefits you dont have to pay so I am very lucky. The last time I had a tooth out was a hideous experience, the dentist had to put his foot on the bottom of the chair to get leverage to pull it out. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Hi,InWoam! I am very sorry to hear that you are suffering so much pain. I have once experienced the same. A friend of mine, who graguated from a medical college and is now a tentist, told me to put some salt on the tooth paste each time I bush my teeth. And I brush my teeth three times a day. Believe me, it worked very well. I hope you will try as I did. Good luck to you!

Hi TnWoman! Yes, I did have tooth aches before and one that got an abscess because I keep on postponing my dentist appointment until it worsened. I promised myself to really keep all my dentist appointments since then. I hope that you are feeling better now somehow. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

OUCH! I know how bad mouth pain can be. Tooth pain is one of the worst pains I have ever felt and I have had 2 kids and surgery twice. I would take either of those over an aching tooth. I hope you get it taken care of really soon.

Hi, TnWoman, I very sorry that you are in a lot of pain. I have had many tooth pulled out so I know about pain. The pain before and afterwards. I have had a couple of absessions, and I have ended up getting it pulled because it was infected. I went to the dentist in September for a general cleaning. Everything seems to be looking pretty good, and I hope that it can stay this way when I go back in March. I hope that you get your teeth looked at. It sounds like it may need to be pulled. And I hope that you will feel less pain if they have to pull it. The numbness will help it. I have having tooth pain. I have went through it many times in my life. I hope that you will feel better soon once your teeth is pulled!

My mom experienced the same thing about a year ago, If your face is swelling and you have a slight ear ache you can go to the hospital for it. They have emergency dentists at the hospital for this reason. They will give you medication for the swelling and pain, once the absess' swelling goes down they will remove the tooth for you.

Hi TnWoman, I’m so sorry to learn that you suffer a lot from the toothache as well as the pain on one side of your ear even having a slightly touch on it. Toothache is really dreadful and it’s hardly to endure. Yeah, you are doing right. Only the dentist could help us to get rid of the great pain. Though the dentist service charge is rather expensive in everywhere in my place, it’s still worth to pay for it for he is the only person who could help us during this very moment. Here we would get lower charge dentist in the government hospital. But we have to line in a very long queue to wait for our turn. Very often we have to spend more than a couple of hours sitting there to keep on enduring the heavy pain for such a longer time. Really a drowning man will catch a straw and what I need badly is to get a dentist to solve my tooth pain urgently. So what I did when I had a toothache before was to visit the dentist in his clinic and I picked the one with lesser patients. Anyway we could earn back the expense we have spent on this when we are healthy again Happy posting and take care.

I have had an abscessed wisdom tooth before and that was very painful. Since it was a wisdom tooth nobody would pull it for less then 600.00 and I had to go to the ER and get intravenous antibiotics. Finally I found a nice dentist that was willing to pull it for 200.00. So I got it taken out and ended up having a bad reaction to the anesthetic which made me shake and I felt sooooo sick. Good luck with the bad tooth it sure is a pain.
