What treatments are available for nail bitting

My boyfriend doesnt really bite his nails its more his cuticles and around his nails. Its annoying to me and ive tried to get him to stop i was filing down the skin that he was bitting and he stopped for a couple of days but i got sick and tired of doing that over and over again. What are some ways to get him to stop doing this?

well if what you do stops him keep doing it till it eventually breaks the habit, it would take up to 20 days for it to effectively take an effect, but if he dosent stop like squirt him with water when he does it, that will stop it
