Is anyone else a huge Cribbage fan? I LOVE Cribbage and have been playing it since I was very young (maybe about 6 or 7 - at whichever age I learned how to count & add). For those of you who don't know, Cribbage is a card-playing game where you are dealt hands and are looking for the most "points" (in the forms of flushes, runs, "fifteens", pairs, and so on).
For my fellow Cribbage fans, here are some questions for you to consider:
Does anyone else play this card game regularly?
Are you any good at it?
How long have you been playing it?
What's the highest hand you've ever gotten?
Do you know anyone who has gotten a 29? (AKA the highest possible hand someone could get)?
Do you believe that winning at Cribbage has more to do with SKILL or LUCK?
Personally, I've gotten a 24 (4455 and a cut of 6), but I've never gotten a 29, although my step-dad has. I think it has to do with a combination of luck & skill. =) What about you guys?

I had never play cribb until i met my client 5 years ago(i work as a aid for disable in their home).I suck so much for the first year it wasn't funny, but than i got the hang of it and now i like it.i go a 24 before too and i've seen my client get a 29(5555 and a cut of jack),it's pretty impressif but i think it's a little bit a both, luck and skill because you need to think before you make a move and well if you have bad cards, not much you can do about it.Have a nice day and enjoy your next game.

LOL, well I'm pretty sure a 29 is actually when you have the jack in your hand, so you can get knobs, and therefore make it an odd number (J555 with a cut of 5). . I'm sure that statement makes me kind of a cribbage nerd.
Thanks! I appreicate your input! I agree, it's a combination of luck & skill.

I grew up playing Sheepshead (Shaskupf) which is a bit like Euchre. I married into a euchre playing family and now all of my kids know euchre... or our familiy's version of it, anyway.
My hubby's Grandma was a huge fan of cribbage and we played with her a few times but haven't played much since she passed away. I do hope to teach that game to the kids, too. It is such a handy thing to know card games and be able to teach them to others. It's almost a lost art (I don't count poker or blackjack here) Such memories of the family sitting around the table goofing off and playing cards!!

I love it too, and I agree with you - it does seem like a "lost art". It's definitely something that has brought my dad and me together - as whenever we go out to eat or do anything together, it usually consists of playing a card game as well. Cards, like board games, really bring people together - and they're so cost-effective!
I've never been a fan of Euchre, mainly because no one's ever taught me how to play.
Thanks for responding!
