To improve my English,I like to chat with the foreigners. From chatting ,I know more things about him/her and are interested in the culture in his/her country.I like to chat with the foreigner, but sometimes I don't know which topic should I chat with him, because I know little about his country and customes. What's your feeling?and what topic do you usually chat?

hi tengjiajing, I also love chatting with foreign people because it helps me improve my English.I think there is nothing wrong to ask them about their culture. I also ask that when I chat a foreigner. I ask his/her name, age, gender, and if he or she is still a student or already working. Then I will also share some information of mine.Sometimes I also ask what is the time there to know the differences between his or her time and on ours.I not only chat with foreigner but love to make friends to them as well. If we always chat with them, by and by, we will know the traditions and cultures that they country has. If you want to improve more of your English, I suggest that you read more English books and watch English movies. From that, you will encounter different words and it will surely expand your vocabulary. Also try to practice speaking english with other people like your family, friends and acquaintances. As the line goes "Practice makes perfect" If you want, I can also suggest you a site where you can meet different people and learn many languages as you want. You can go to the site of livemocha.com and sign up there. That site has so many members. You can invite them to chat with you. And also on the chat box, there are sample dialogue there that both of you can use to practice English.Hope this helps. Happy mylotting and keep on posting

I chat with a lot of foreign people on YouTube. We don't really chat about different things in our countries unless something special is happening. Normally we all just talk about regular stuff. Every so often there is a language barrier but for the most part I am impressed. Back when I was trying to improve my Spanish I remember chatting with native speakers online and getting quickly lost. I said something funny and I didn't even get it at first when someone said "jajaja" back to me.

It is indeed pretty fun to chat with someone who is totally have a different background from you. You would know more about theirs. I, myself loves to chat with foreigners. I don't consider myself is higher than anyone, I just want to know more about theirs. I will respect them, and love to learn more from them too.
