We have been told that the Stimulus Package does not contain pork will create real jobs.(3 to 4 million jobs) San Francisco has 30 Projects. No pork in the package.
http://www.stimuluswatch.org/project/by_state
Check out this site and see what the projects are. One project will save 50 jobs at a cost of 27 million dollars. Not bad a job that costs $540,000 to create or save.
Do you think this is a stimulus package or political pay offs?

Most of what congress does has some political payoff in it. If the money were to go to every state and use just to upgrade and repair the highway system that would be creating real jobs. But to use the money to suplant funds already budgeted is wrong. Why not spend the money building more nuclear power plants? That would give us energy and new jobs.

From some of the articles I have been reading wind and solar are still 10 to 20 years from being practical to say nothing about affordable. Even if we could develop them you still have the problems of getting the energy to the people. Even if we could build the wind and solar farms most of the country does not get enough of either to supply their needs. Building safe reactors is something that can be done and France has been obtaining a major part of their electricity from Nuclear for years and no problems. It can be done.

i think it is a massive spending spree that is going to cause our grandchildren a lot of trouble some day. it is full of pork. everyone who voted on it didn't even read it through because they were pushed to pass it. i don't know but an awful lot of it seems to be government jobs that are being created. what about all the small businesses that had to close because of the economy? how does this stimulas package help when it is too late for them?

People who are working and paying taxes are more and more opposing this. They see it for what it is all the far lefts wish list for the last 20 years and tehy are going to get it an any cost including bankrupting the country. They don't care abour the tax payer except on Tax Day.

T%here is no doubt that this spending package is nothing more than political payoffs.
This is just Chicago-style politics that the 0bamunist was brought up on.
It is nothing less than graft, greed, corruption, and a grab for power on the part of the democrats in their bid to turn our government into a one party government.
Once that is done, then they can get to the Totalitarian Fascism that they are seeking, just like their heroes in Cuba, the USSR, China, and Nazi Germany... and a bunch of other places where it w3as tried and eventually failed.

"These projects are not part of the stimulus bill. They are candidates for funding once the federal grant programs once the bill passes."
Slightly different to saying these are what the projects are! I for one do hope the money IS put to good use I am sure any one of us could find a dozen projects tha would both aid our communities and crate jobs. I just wish we could get behind the administration and start screaming positive things. It is also up to each and every one of us to track where the money goes that comes to our communities. But any money coming into our areas HAS to aid the economies there.

They can have one good thing - people that get something to do during the days may help them from not being sick. At least here in Sweden poeple that are unemployes and is just at home with nothing to do suffers healthwise if you compere to those unemployes that are in some kind of activity payd by the government. It's also more likely that the people in activites get a job than the ones that are not in an activity.
It differs from person to person, but healthwise it's a benefit to be in a activity.
