I'm currently unemployed, and I need a job...

Have you ever used a job hunting website? Did it work for you?
I'm currently signed up to Reed, Monster, Fish4 & JobCenterPlus. I've been a member for 4 months and still not found anything suitable. Monster keep "finding me the perfect job", then it turns out they are recommending I apply to the company that fired me in October. It is really upsetting because I loved that job. I also regularly post off CV's, fill in applications, and go round asking for jobs, but to no avail. This is so difficult, and it's causing serious issues personally as it makes me depressed and really tetchy and short with people. I don't know what to do. Have you been in the same situation? What did you do, what did you find was the best way to tackle unemployment?
Any responses will be appreciated.

I've used a job hunting website but it didn't help me to find a good job a signed up last year. Most of the companies they recomended are just agencies, I tried it twice then I suddenly found a good company to apply but they just tell me that they will contact me after a week to take exam, then a week to exam again it almost take a month then when the final interview comes they didn't even inform me if I've passed or not. Then after few months I applied for a call center, I seach it in a website too but not at the job hunting website that gives me more problems. I was able to work at that company for a month then I resigned because of financial problem. As of now I think the best solution is to learn how to make some craft out of recycled materials and how will I enhance my talent in drawing. I know this will be a big help for me.

Hi friend! I have some suggestions for you. Why don't you try to search some vedios that illustrates how to make something from a used paper or a plastic bags then try to learn from it. You'll enjoy doing what you like at your free time. We have same problem. I don' know where to start to till I saw the vedio in youtube. I hope I can help you from here.

I am currently unemployed too. It is very stressful and discouraging trying to find a job these days. I use the job hunting websites as well. There are so many people now looking for a job which makes it hard to obtain one.
I usually refer to my newspaper, monster, careerbuilder, indeed and the state website. I have also used snag a job. I have submitted resumes and application but like you to no avail.
Being unemployed has caused serious problems for me, but I am doing the best I can.
I wish you a lot of luck

I'm gonna try to looking for jobs FORUMS or bulletin boards specific to my area in a day or two. I'm also gonna print out some posters to put on our grocery stores' bulletin boards about my skills, the fact that I'm up for almost anything and everything, and the jobs I'd REALLY love to do...with contact info at the bottom. I'm not sure if I'll get any bites, but I've been doing odd jobs for the past couple years, and I need some bigger odd jobs than I've been getting.
A steady stream of odd jobs, especially if people recommend me to who they know...would really be helpful.
I'm not sure what the best way is...I'm young, a teenager still, so I didn't have alot available to me BEFORE the economy went splat...odd jobs seems best for me, atm. My Mom has her network of friends on the lookout for jobs for me, Mom, and eachother, but that dried up last autumn. I've hope that it'll start bringing me more work as soon as it gets warm, though it's not a sure thing.
The point I guess, is to just keep trying. To keep looking. To be creative.

There's one I am using called totaljobs.com.
You can enter your postcode to see jobs within 5 miles of that address.
My 19 year old daughter is using it too and yesterday found 3 jobs to apply for.
Good Luck and don't let it get you down!

I have being in that situation for half a month, then I have my new job.
It's too bad, I feel hopeless also helpless.
It's looks like the whole world throw me away.
You should insist, level down your request.
I hope you will find your perfect job.
Take care.

I am currently unemployed too and my visa does not allow me to do work here so i am only depending on my husband. But since work at home is the only option i know, i have tried this website three weeks ago and now i am going to get my pay this coming March 15 or so.
But i also tried to apply on other data entry jobs, but i want you to try if you can also be lucky to have one, try Odesk.com, if you want to work at home, this is free, no amount needed for registration.
I have been interviewed a lot of times by employers but i did not agree on the time schedule because i have other jobs to do so i turned it down. But if you fill up the registration, your CV, complete every information needed there and i am sure in no time you can have a job there too.

I've been self-employed for 60 years, except when I've taken a job along with my work at home. I'm a Farmer and I love my job. One of the problems I've had with modern education is that the student is trained to work for someone, rather than to be self-employed. Working for yourself (or being self-employed) is much more fulfilling than is being an employee. However it is harder work because you are your own boss. Ok, you are asking,"How can I do this?" It is done like this. Find a knitch and fill it! Look around, and find a need in your community, Fill that need and you are self-employed. Child care, Home care, Find an older person who needs a driver, or needs daily help.Be a live Nanny. Start a grocery-delivery business. Be a shopper for hire. Home baking. Make a list of all the things you like to do, and start from there. The world is full of opportunities just waiting for someone with an imagination like yours. Good Luck! I know you can do IT!

I was used to in the same situation in 2007,I quit my first job first and then hunting for another job,it takes me more than 2 monthes to find another one which I still don't like.it's also depressed,I planed to find another job the begining of this year but the recession thing just makes it harder now.it's so upsetting.
For you situation I suggest you take one job whatever you like or don't.I mean first we need to survive.take a job and then you could try to find another at the same time.

I'm also unemployed.. Well, I had to resign last year from my job when I was being given a regular spot, because I got ill.. At first I was really depressed because I lost my job and I felt like, I was helpless, and dependent to my parents... Back then, I'd rather stay in my room for the whole day because I didn't want to see our neighbors who can't do anything else than to gossip... I sometimes think that they're talking about me.. hehe... me who is college graduate, professional in my field, yet unemployed... I coped up with the help of my parents and family.. They encouraged me and made me realize that even if I lost my previous job, it was for the best.. (because I had to recuperate) I will be able to have another job someday... and God has a better plan for me.. ^_^
I haven't really tried online applications.. I prefer personal submission of application but, nothing happened yet... maybe its because of the recession...

try jobstreet.com and jobsdb.com these are what i used when i was looking for jobs back then. I think jobstreet has more employers though so check it out :D and hey i know how you feel, the pressure and all but don't let it get to you. It may seem it is taking a while but i tell you the job you want will soon be coming to you when you least expect it, just keep applying! have a nice day!
