do you think social institutions still play their role in society?

I must say that I agree that social institutions are losing their role in society. But, I don't think we should rely so heavily on the schools to bring us around. I believe the heart of everything social is in the family. I'm not one of those out there loonys that think that we should move to the country and homeschool. Well, okay, that would be cool if we could, but it's not what will fix crap. Parent's need to care about their kids more. I remember one day driving out of my old apartment complex and I almost ran over a kid because he had climbed down into the drain off hole and only his head was sticking out. I almost didn't see him in time. Later that night I told his mom what had happened and she laughed at me. 'Yeah, my kids are out of control!' she said. I'm sorry, but if your kid is that out of control you shouldn't let them outside without your supervision. But, yep, I had some kids attempt to beat me up with baseball bat at age 5 or 6. The funny thing is these kids go to church every time the church bus rolls into the parking lot they are waiting for it! The parents totally shun me when they see my outside doing my tarots late at night. But, they just don't watch over their own. It's sad, really.

There are new institutions like social network sites online and the media and video games that are taking over now. It's a new era.

I do mot think so.
i think they should be canceled.Society is developing and old things should be replaced be new things. No one can stop the trend.Maybe one year,or three years or seventy years, they will be replaced by new things.
