I haven't seen a huge purpose for having friends on myLot. What do you do with your friends? Why do you make friends here?

I like having friends with similar interests and who offer interesting viewpoints. I like being able to go to my 'friends started' list and having a nice selection of discussions that interest me instead of having to wade through page after page of ones that don't. I also like having people that respond to my discussions thoughtfully. However it's not so much about just having a list of people who agree with you, it's more about having people who are respectful and insightful.

Thanks for sharing that. So it is like a community within a community, people you get to know better and trust.

I usually request someone to be my friend when they post a discussion that I like or read some responses they've posted that I like. I try and support my friends in their posting endeavors. The first place that I look when I look when I log on is the section where my friends have started discussions. That is what I think is one of the biggest reasons for having friends on mylot.

Well, I guess the main reason is that the friends you make can see when you start a discussion and then they may respond to it if it interests them. Otherwise, if your question is not extremely interesting, it might get buried in short order on about page 15.

Right, that makes sense, and I've done that too. I have made a couple of friends based upon the types of discussions they start. Thanks!
