Far Away From Home

Last December, my parents had to move because my dad's job moved to a new town 40 minutes away. They tried transfering me, but it turns out that if I get transfered, I lose all my credits, I could not let them do that, when I spent a lot of time getting those credits, now I am a freshman, but still, those credits can mean a lot.
SO instead of moving, I decided to stay with a friend, paying his parents 200$ a month for rent and food.
Now, all my friends ask me if I feel any pain being so far from parents,
I truthfully don't feel so bad, since I know I have to move back with them when summer gets here.
Now my question to you is,
if you were in this situation,
what would you do?
And if you had to do the same as me,
how would you feel?

I guess first I'll compute the cost of living away from my parents - I assume they'll be shouldering that. If staying and finishing the term while they pay for my food and lodging then that is cheaper than doing it all over again, then I'd stay. But if it would cost more, then I'd rather go - I'd be behind for less than a year, but I can live with that.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

If I were in your situation I would leave together with my family.
Maybe many peaple will think me lack of independence. But I do so because of my exeperice when I was young.
When I was very young ,my parents were very busy with their businese.I grow up with my grandparents. This experience leave me influence for ever. When It is time for me to go to school,I choose schools nearest to my home.I value every minute spent with my family.
That is my choice.

I would have stayed as well. As much as I love my parents, I want to make a life of my own too. One way of doing that is completing my education. I would look at it as a small sacrifice that I have to do in order to be a better person.

We should learn to be independent of our parents. We can't depend on them forever. So it is important for us to take the first step. So if I were you, I would stay. Far away from our parents, we have to deal with many difficulities by ourselves. Maybe it is hard for us at rhe begining, but we can drow up quickly.
