I have used IE for a long time and there is a website that I have been going to almost every day for years and suddenly IE wouldn't open the site and gave the error: "Error 501/505 - Not implemented or not supported
Internet Explorer". I looked that up and tried what was suggested but IE still would not show the page. So I got Firefox and it worked for a couple of weeks and now it says something like an error occurred in executing your request, try again later, but it hasn't worked for a couple of days. The site is still there because I have been getting email from it. So, does anyone have suggestions on how to get either IE or Firefox to work? Or, is there some other decent free browser I can try? Thanks.

try to open that site from some other computer, if it opens then i suggest you to install some other browser and try to access that site.
Try to ping that site from command prompt if it works then it is the problem of your browser.

First, clear your browser history and cookies. Then, try to access your site. If that doesn't do it, then I'm not sure. Sorry man.

I uninstalled Firefox, clearing everyting and installed it again with no luck. I clear the history almost everytime I before leaving one page and going to another. I hate to clear the cookies completely since I am dependent on them for a few sites and don't really want to have to find the pass words and other things the cookies provide, but I guess I can try that. Thanks.

O'K clearing the cookies worked for IE but I have to do it every time and I haven't had any luck just going to the cookies folder and deleting just the ones that appear to be for the site. So I guess I will have to live with it but it is a pain since I then have to login to a few sites where I usually either stayed loggedin or they kept the information in a cookie. These are sites where I am not worried about someone getting the login information and it is really convient to stay loggedin there.
