well,I am not.sometimes I really miss my hometown,my mom,dad and others.Actually they want me to work at my hometown after I graduated from college,I like to be on their sides but I couldn't,I want to fly higher and make my dream come true.the truth is nothing is easy to me right now but I will never give up. So,are you working at your hometown or somewhere near your hometown,do you feel lonely sometimes and really miss your hometown?

I understand how you feel at this moment, since I have experienced finishing college and studying away from my hometown. I know those times that one gets lonely missing all the things associated with their hometown. The comfort and the fact that you are close to your family, nothing really compares with it. I agree it is not easy, but we should not give up. Now, I am working within my hometown, and I am happy about it. I am staying here for more than a year now.

Thank you for your topic! I am also working and learning from distance away of my hometown! Just like I sometimes miss my hometown, parents and sisiters, brothers, especially I am in low mood. On the other hand, it is wise for us to struggle outside hometown, which we can enrich ourselves and will bring more for our family and us! Just keep going to our future! Take care of yourself and wish you everything goes well.

I'm not working in my hometown. I'm actually working in a different province and I go home every other week. I'll be coming home for the long weekend (May 1 - Labor Day is a Friday). I'm looking forward to the home cooked meals because my mother is a wonderful cook and my sister also sometimes cooks as well - food that we don't usually eat like Mexican dishes, which my brother loves because of the cilantro. I do miss them a lot :) I'm just happy that my boyfriend keeps me company while Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Well,I can understand your feeling. I am a lucky one that after I graduated from college,I came back to my hometown where my parents and friends live in. And many of my classmates of college just like you didn't come back home. When we communicate by phone, I can feel their loneliness and homesick. But as the time goes on, you could have more and more friends in the city you worked and then you will be very happy. Good luck and happy mylotting.

No, I work out of my hometown, or I work where-ever I can get work. I mostly work next to my hometown, then again, I live in southern California, and it is not that hard to work out of your city or work in a city next to where you are living.

This is a very sad discussion... A nice one, but sad. I felt sad just by reading it. I have the same situation. Isn't nice to go home and hug your mom or dad whenever you feel like it? I'm not really looking for a job that will land me on a company's stationary pad. Just a satisfying job that pays me with justice. However, even such job is hard to find from my hometown. So here I am in the city. Hey, have you seen the "sweet home alabama" movie? If you have not, I suggest you do, its about a love lost and finding its way back when Resee Witherspoon came back to her hometown after so many years. It's one of my favorite love story.

If i was decided to moved and have a good work at our hometown i will grab it and lived there. I really love my hometown so much since most of my family was there living. Before I was working at big city, i try to save a lots and when i save enough already to start a business there in our hometown i wasn't hesitate to moved and have a business there. Its better to lived your hometown than in other place co`z i felt much more comfortable and parents was there to help me emotionally and physically.

My situation is similar to you. I gratuated on 2007 and find a job at the city where I gratuated. My parents deeply hope that I can go back to the hometown and work there though they haven't talked with me about this directly. One thing different from you is that I have a girlfried and she prefers to live in this city... In her opinion people should go outside and go up. Just like her parents who come fron Xingjiang province. Without her I may go back to the hometown. But since I love her and I also want to begin a new life in a different place, I think it is a nice challenge, though I have already met a lot of difficulties. I have to pay the rent money for the house, the daily life costs and so on. Since I have chose this way, I have to Stick to it and undertake the obligations. Luckily she support and considerate of me a lot. Homesick and difficulties always revolved around me. But at the same time, happiness and hope never leave from me. Hi guy let't work hard together for our future! I love my parents! I love Maomao... Sorry Mom&Dad...

keep up the same spirit...great going ktosea. me, i am working at my hometown only though i had offers from my same office to work at other places, but i refuse them because i know no country can become our hometown, i could go there for sight-seeing or stay for maximum a month, but not more than that, home is where the heart is, why stay away from my heart for a little more money, thats my stand...but i hope more than money, its your dream, so acceptable in a way...anyways if possible, try to go back to your hometown if you get good oppurtunities there

Yes!I do my business in my home town.I am born here, learned here and doing my business here.Only for purchases I travel out of my town and that will not last more than a week.Contrary to you I longed to study outside my town and I liked to work outside as well. But I am unlucky.I can say one will have more exposures when staying away from the home town. But being in the home town has some advantages,I will not refuse.Cheers!

I am not living or working in my hometown, and I'm happy for it at this point in my life. I wouldn't mind maybe moving back there and settling at some point, but I like being on my own in a place where I don't have roots. It's a bit more of a challenge, but also more refreshing, and the independence feels nice. There's more to learn and explore than if I were still in my hometown, and I think I can only benefit from it!

Hi Ktosea, I am not working in my hometown. I work in a city where is 5 hours drive from my hometown. It's not very far, so if i want, i can go home in the weekend. But i don't do that quite often as it's a tiring thing. I do miss them sometimes, but most of the time, because i have many friends around, i don't feel homesick. The reason keep us away from home should be our dream, what we want about our own life. Right? Best wishes to all of us who is not working in the hometown!
