Why are innocent people getting arrested every 7 seconds for having small amounts of Marijuana. There were more arrests last year for small amounts of marijuana then any other offense last year, does that make any sense? Its the exact same thing that happened with alcohol during prohibition what did that solve, nothing it was made legal and just proves how much prohibition doesn't work. Our government spends so much money on trying to keep kids off drugs but it hasn't worked more people are using weed now then ever before so what is the point.Anyone who has tried marijuana will tell that the effects of marijuana compared to alcohol are substantial, alcohol is a lot worse for you despite what the DEA claims(which most of the time is complete crap). If nothing else legalizing or decriminalizing, taxing, and regulating marijuana would keep the weed out of the hands of kids because by regulating it you could put an age limit on it like alcohol(because drug dealers don't care how old you are)and the money we would save(it costs 50,000/yr to put someone in prison)could be spent towards other things like i don't health care.I believe that the money that could be potentially made could help bring this country out recession.California has just proposed a bill that would try this which seems to me to be the smartest idea for that state considering that marijuana is there number one cash crop(and its illegal). I am not condoning legalizing every drug but with the rising use of marijuana it just makes since.
