what if you discovered that your parents arranged for your marriage since you were young? will you accept or concede or will you fight for the person you really love?

hi Joycemiranda,
Arranged marriages is not unknown in India , Infact it is quite common here and though this practice of arranging marriage of young ones has stopped a long time back because now girls too are well educated and parents would want equally qualified husband for her and vice versa. But still in poor areas and in poor people like Rajasthan it still happens and girls and guys do honour their parents words and also thats how their way of life is and they dont find it funny or something out of ordinary.

I don't know what I would think. I have heard that arranged marriages are actually more successful than traditional marriages.

Hello,Miranda! It is our custom, rather say it tradition that our parents arrange our marriages. Most of our people don't prefer love marriage.Almost 80% of Indian marriages are arranged marriage. My marriage was an arranged marriage.I married my wife and for the first time we met each other in our honeymoon bed.It was a case of forty years back. However these days the young people prefer love marriage. So we have nothing but to agree to their proposals.thanx.
