Do you prefer hard wood floors?

In a dinning room I prefer wood floors. But, in my living room or bedroom I like carpet because it keeps your feet warmer and it seems more comfortable. In the kitchen I like the tiled look.

I love wood floors - in other peoples homes but not my own, They are too difficult to keep looking nice especially, as you say, when you have pets. One of the places I lived in had them in all the rooms except the kitchem and they were so difficult to keep shining. I prefer tiles with rugs to break up the cool feel they give out. They are so much easier to keep clean and shining too. I have them where Ilive now and am very happy indeed with them.

I have pets and I like hardwood if I had carpets I would not be able to keep them clean and if the pet does he duty on the carpet well that means you can throw that carpet away.

I never used to but now that we have them I love them. They just look so pretty. They make the house look more sophisticated and more neat and clean. They are also easier to take care of. I don't have to drag the vaccuum cleaner out every time they get crumbs or something on them.

I've had both, hard wood looks great but keeping it nice is a chore. Carpet is good for keeping the floor warm but you have to do so much to it to keep it clean. I'll take both.

I am a big fan of wood, I like unpainted, plain wood, shiny wood any of them. I don't mind carpets as long as it is kept in a clean condition, I don't like to walk on the carpets with shoes.

Give me wall to wall carpet. Hard wood floors hurt my knees when I walk. I like that cusion carpet gives me.

As I also have pets, I have noticed that hardwood floors are very difficult to maintain. Especially when it comes to my dogs' and their nails, as I don't have a dremel yet for them, the wooden floors don't look as new as they did before. I do love the flashiness they bring to a certain room. I prefer the rougher-textured carpets than the really fluffy carpets. I find them much easier to keep clean, and even though they don't look so presentable sometimes, they're still very easy to take care of.
