I am the same way. Especially when it comes to my best friend she has always been there for me and I would consider her my sister.

You know, in some cases I believe that you can have friends that are more dependable and reliable then family members. And the thing about that which can be disconcerting is the idea that you would think family members would be the ones that would be there for you in times of trouble.
That can really hurt a person when they try to depend on a relative in their family and then they feel rejected or turned down. Sometimes there are times when you need a family member to help you and they just don't seem to care. But when you seek out a good friend then they will have a tendency to drop everything and run to come to help you out.
They say that blood is thicker than water. Well for a long time I thought that would be true in most cases.
Their are just some people that have relatives that don't keep in contact and just end up fading into obscurity and you can't in touch with them.
Thank goodness for good friends. If you can find just one good friend then that is good for you. Friends that are dependable and trustworthy are not always easy to come by.

I know that feeling, but I have to say my family is the only friends I have. True friends that is. I use to go and hang out with women my age and listen to all the gossip, until one day I caught my best friend talking more gossip, this time about me. It hurt, severely. That's when I realized, my husband and mother was my best friends. As time went on, and my neice grew up though, she became my best friend. We are so much alike, we are like sisters. As for the trials in my life, I try not to tell anyone anymore. Everyone has a opinion of something, and sometimes listening to that opinion can do more damage. It help me learn to trust my own judgement. Something I could never do before.
