I was once religious, but gave it up to become Spiritual. Organized religions are run like a business. They each have their own Theism's and they are very particular that their Parishioners attend to these specific Beliefs. When a Christian wants advise about his/her faith, he/she asks the Priest or Pastor. The Christian will be advised to Follow the recommended principals. All religions Collect Money. Like any Business the Church needs money to pay the Clergy, and to keep the church coffers full.
Spiritualism does not need money. A Spiritualist learns to talk, one on one with God, and has no need of a go-between, between him/her self and God. When a Spiritualist needs spiritual guidance, God is always there to be a guide. Religion abhors Spiritualism, and advises against it. Spiritualism is not a business that collects money. This is why one cannot be Religious, and Spiritual at the same time.

for me it's different. now this is just my opinion don't take it as if it's a factual truth (LoL).
being religious is like being an avid fan of religion -- the practices (sacraments as we in the church call it), the traditions, the culture, etc - they key word here is "actions or acts".
while being spiritual doesn't need one to be religious (although it can be that a person is both spiritual and religious, or just religious and not spiritual and vise versa).
i'd say i'm more spiritual than religious. I miss bible study a lot of times, but I always pray and keep that spiritual connection with the God i believe in. faith is what makes one spiritual. Whenever I feel that connection with the supreme being, I feel as if we have this special relationship or bond that no one can intervene.
but anyway, we all have our own thoughts on this one. and i'm not trying to make anyone agree with me... happy mylotting!! :p

Well I say I am spiritual, not religious. Meaning I believe in God and other spiritual beings. I do not attend church, which to me is a religious person, thinking that you need to go to a building (house of god) to share the word. God is everywhere so I can be talk to him at any time anywhere. As long as you believe you are spiritual.
