In india getting an oscar award for a movie is the ability or not

Getting an oscar is always a great ability not only for India but for any foreign country.Bt I do beleive that slumdog,though a great movie, is overrated. It is undoubtedly not the best performances of A.R Rehman and Gulzar,the music director and lyricist of the movie respectively. They delivered much better work before. Only because Slumdog was made by a British director, got so much of hype at the Oscars and BAFTA. But a film like Lagaan, which went to the finals of the Oscars giving tough competitions to films like Emille and No Man's Land, couldnot make it finally because there was no Brtish name associated with it. That's the sad part about India. When a film is "about India" it is appreciated but a purely Indian film still cannot succumb to the competition there!!

boss to be very frank n confident..i didnt enjoyed much..if u will say y....i must say u i m very happy that movie got the oscar awards..but if u will go beyond the story..itz totally fun abt the indian....yup there r some truth..india was a poor country..still itz happening in india..but y r u exposing only the disadvantage of the country ..y not the advantages which india has achieved in these 50 yrs? so movie is totally waste n music is really superb.........i dont know abt the other what u feel..what other feel abt the slumdog millionaire.....

Offcourse its d ability..!!for slumdog...d music awards of rahman n gulzar r well desreved..though not for d movie itself.both these persons r too talented n i think dey would hav gt an oscar much before have dey been american/british citizens.slumdog is a british movie.but for indian movies getting an oscar d problem is dat..they are nomianated as foreign movies..dat increases d competition 100 times more as there r hordes of good movies from other countries too..
