Has anyone had a twitching eye before?

March 4, 2009 12:25pm CST
Hi Everyone, I have started getting a twitch in my eye lately and it is getting worse. I think it has started since I have been on the internet trying to make money so it might be because of looking at my computer screen all day. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks:)

Hi Luckyangel, They're right. Whenever get stress out at work or even at some situations where I hadn't had a goodnight sleep for days, these sometimes ends up to involuntary twitching if the eyelid or eyelids. When this happens, the best you can do is to close your eyes so that the muscles in your eyes will be bale to relax. It is better if you also let your whole body relax to let the stress out. But if the twitching persists for days and it bothers you too much, you can try consulting a doctor about it... ^_^ by the way, when you had been in front of the computer all day or for long hours, you should not wash your face immediately especially your eyes for about 30-40 minutes. It's one of the those don'ts on taking care of your eyes... happy mylotting ^_^

Hi, I had a twitching in my eye just this week. I was wondering if it had to do with the saying that if a certain eye of yours jump, it can mean that someone is talking about you, either, good or bad, depending on which eye is jumping... That is an old saying that I have heard during the years. If this is untrue, then it may be something else that may be wrong. I will need to find out the REAL answer to why my eye twitches like it does. I hope that you find the answer to yours too.

I agree, stress is a big part of twitching. Sometimes, my eyes are stressed from too much computer....but sometimes I'm stressed from trying to make online money...especially when finances are tight... I try harder to see what I can make, but I am a student...I'm working hard as it is... lol

Thanks for your response! I have been stressing lately for many reasons. I have also been on the computer a lot lately and stressing about making money online as there doesn't seem to be any really good sites to make money on.

Hi luckyangel...Eye twitching is quite common and is also called eye muscle spasm. It can be caused from a variety of things including bright lights, computer screen through long use, stress, dry eyes, and more. Usually resting the eye and cutting down on the activity can cure it..If it persists after this or gets worse, it could be an indication of something worse and you should see an eye specialist

Hi Sandymay, thanks for your response. I think I will try and cut down on the computer tomorrow to see if that works.

In Chinese, we have a meaning of eye twitching, I am not sure which one is correct, It either means good stuff will happen when right eye twitch and bad stuff happen when left eye twitch or backwards.

oh i have... i think stress causes it based on my observations. just rest your eyes from time to time and it should stop. but if it really bothers you then better see a doctor when you can. good luck!
