hi,there.sometimes i think i wanna read a book as soon as possible cuaz it is so interesting that i cannot persuade myself to leave it and to do the other things even to have a lunch:)indeed i always stay up just for finishing reading a novel so that i can get a good sleep without worrying about the plots in the book.of course we should know that normal life does not permit one to do so always so i \\after finishing reading a book i usually pay more attention to my job or my other hobbies like climbing mountains shopping or visiting my friends whatever ,if i am interested in a book i will concentrate to it until the end of the book,or i will never take a look at the book, maybe a little crazy who knows....

well well well i believe todays most of the people simply dont have the time to spend on a book that is the basic reason, if we had all the time in the world, i think we would have spend some time with books in our hand

I mostly try to finish reading a book as soon as possible as I usually have others lined up to be read. I have these phases when i read one book after other...and then there are times when i do not read for a long time. i never leave a book half finished. It happende only once....i left a book midway for almost an year.....but then i started reading it from page one again and finished it in a week.

If it's a good book, I'll sit up all night after work in order to finish it. I'm a fairly quick reader anyway, so on average I read a book every 2 - 3 days, as I spend most of my spare time reading. I've always got at least one book with me, so if I ever get stuck anywhere, or am waiting for an appointment etc, I use that time to read.

well as my usernames says..LOL, I use to read 2-3 books a week, I love to read, i would start a book and finish it sometimes that same day--if it was really good...LOL but havent had time in the last couple months, as I now have a 1 yr old that keeps me busy during the day, the economy has hit home and I have been trying to earn a little more to help out around the house...I am a full time mom so anything I can make online is a help... as I dont normally get any paycheck..so if I can do anything to help out, I have been using my spare time now on the computer. I am hoping by summer to get back to reading... I have a huge pile to get back too..LOL

I'm with you bookreadermom. I can usually read a book in a day or two, but lately have been trying to make a few dollars online and it has really cut into my reading time. Now in my spare time I get on mylot.

Hope to finish it within a day or two. Unless the novel is really touch my heart that I got to stop and think about it. Gone with the Wind happens to be such a book. I read slowly and re-read certain portion that I love very much. Thinking about the love for mother, love for the land, impact of the civil war and so on. For most mystery series, just hope to find out who's the murderer, why and how he did it. Got a bad habit of always flipping to the last chapter. It takes all the thrill out but can't help it.

Oh, I was ever accustomed to reading most books with a short time. But unfortunately, that good custom left from me one or two years ago. I can't get into a book these days. I choose a book to read one day, and usually I pick up it again after a long time. I've realized it becomes worse and worse. I hate it, and I must change it!

Yes, I do. When I want a certain amount finished when reading, then I will read the novel's many chapters. And there are times, that I may take my time on the book, depending on how I feel.

I always read and if I get into a good story I will want to keep reading it until I finish it. I can sit and read a book for hours. I am working my way through a great novel One Silent Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I highly suggest it.

Sometimes, it can take me a while before I can finish a novel. But there are other times, when I can finish a novel rather quickly. I think that it primarily depends on the amount of time that I can spend reading and such, because there are times, when I get really busy and cannot spend a lot of time reading novels that i want to read, and such.

Hi Vicky, it depends. If the book is very interesting, I won't be able to put it down, not even to sleep. I would want to finish it so that I know the ending (unless I cheat and go look at the ending pages ). If it's a slow-moving or boring book, it can take me months to finish!

I'd like to finish novels in a few days - sometimes I just can't help it when it's really good. However I do have a "bathroom novel" that has been there for more than two months now - to help the bowels relax. And it's not really something that I'm that interested to - which I think is the idea so I wouldn't have to spend more time in there than I have to. :) Also I don't like reading two different novels at one time, I'd rather finish one before picking up another.

I usually finish a book that I don't like within a few weeks; and one that I DO really like in a few days. It all depends on how interesting to me it is. If a book is really interesting, I would probably try to read it while at work & before bed & at any chance I could. So it depends on the book, really.

For the novels I usually finish them in a few weeks, because the plots keep me going on. But for other kinds, for example, the prose, I like to finish them leisurely to feel their beauty.

Well that usually depends. if I'm very busy that week and the story doesnt grab my attention it could take me forever. But if its an intresting story I usually will stay up reading because I get just so caught up in the great story

I like to read a novel quickly. With a short one I can complete reading it over one weekend but with a long one I take about a week to read it. If it is really exciting I can find it hard to put the novel I am reading down. I wouldn't take me months to complete a novel. I studied English literature at university and at that time I had to read each novel three times. These days I have choice but in those days I had to read all the books on my reading list whether they were interesting or not.

I don't read novels since it takes hours to finish it. Guess I am not that patient. Also I don't have that much time. The last time I read a novel was about 8 or 10 years ago. I actually prefer newspaper and short stories.
