I have four computers in my department. I have lan connection.Can i send message from y computer to another computer through lan by using windows net meeting.I wanted to know that, is it possible without internet can i send message to another computer through lan connection.Any body know the procedure how to set up the system and how to send message, please response to my discussion.

Yes You can send message using your LAN connection without internet but I am sorry I can't help you more than that you have to learn by some of your friend or expert.

You can use win popup or ipmsg which allow you people to chat while working. If you are having a server then you can create users for the people and create mail id in the server and use outlook express and enjoy by sending the mails. Hope you are now able to enjoy the same

I'm not familiar with with your system or net meeting but I would think it would be possible either by net meeting or something else that is available for the lan. Is there some discreet way for you to find out if such messages are allowed by your department and if they are, then there must be an IT person or department that you could ask about it for your case.

yes possible you just need to make sure the RPC servce is running then you can wing messages back and forth with out an chat box. THere is a shareware chat group open source program tha might be easier where you connect to each other through IP address on a lan or wan. good luck i wish i could remember the name of the shareware but it must be on cnet.com
