I just got two more shopping jobs, I go into a business and pretend to be a customer then come home and write the company about it. I am starting to feel really bad about this, what if someone looses their job because of something I report. I just don't like that feeling, yet i have to be honest to my employeer. What do you think?

Hi savypat! I think you are a good person. I think that by doing your job honestly that if someone looses their job..it's not your fault. Another way of looking at it is that you are opening up a position to someone who is jobless and deserves it. I know enough about you to kno you are fair and you would never report anything that was hurtful or untrue. That pretty much releases you of responsibility. People know what their jobs are and what's expected from them. Being honest is who you are.

You are suppose to be reviewing customer service and your experience over all. If someone in a company is not doing there job and causing people to have bad experiences he or she need to be dealt with. If they aren't doing a good job they proably aren't very happy in there job. Maybe they are afraid to go and find a new job. You are expected to be truthful and businesses want honest feedback. Try not to worry about how your reports are going to effect others. Just do your job the best you can and be honest.

If someone loses their job, then they weren't doing a very good job anyway. If it is a one time thing, then I don't think they would get fired. The company would have to already have issues with them. Right now it is hard enough to get a job, so I don't think that you should feel bad if some incompetent individual gets fired and some needy person ends up with their job. LOL Just trying to add a little humor there. I'm sure you get my point though. Have a good day!

I agree with kykid - if they're rubbish at their job, then they shouldn't have it. How many times have you been in a shop and thought "the service sucked - I wish I could do something about it"? Well, now you can.

You have to be honest. Look at it from the company's point of view. What if that worker is causing people to shop elsewhere, and the company is losing customers. Then eventually they'll go under, right? Which is better? Protecting that worker, who isn't doing their job anyway (or not doing it right), or protecting the entire workforce that's there? Do they deserve to lose their jobs? Over her? It's harsh. But one has to look at the long view. Your job is reporting. You have to do it the best you can. That's what you signed up for. That worker did the same. If she isn't doing it, she just isn't.

thats great news!!you can always keep the person who told you the details as anonymous.and moreover,a salesperson is supposed to tell details, which will not prove harmful to the company in any way.

Hi. This may not sound nice, but I think you need to look after #1. This is your job to be critical...so do it and be good at your job. The employee might just get constructive criticism and not get fired. Nadine
