Has anyone ever fasted? Why did you fast? How long? And from what foods? All foods? How did you feel? Was it for spiritual reason?

There's no way I could ever force myself to fast. I just love my groceries too much to do that. People who are able to do so are amazing, but I'm just not one of them.

Hi, shefair. Yes, I have fasted a few times. I fasted to destroy yokes and to make a better way for me and others. I felt cleansed and hungry, like crazy! I fasted from any all foods including gum and candy of any kinds. I felt very drained and tired. It was for a spiritual reason, only. I never fasted when I was pregnant.

The only time I ever fasted is when I have to get a blood test which is I think ten to twelve hours I have to fast. And its pretty hard well mainly the night time since thats when I get hungriest the most and I hate to fast. I dont know if I could go more then a day fasting that would just be to much for me.

When I fast it is for a spiritual reason, so I can devote more time to prayer. I have done this at times when I felt I must pray intensely for something. Most often I will only fast for a day and will only drink water. My stomach will growl but I do not feel ill. I once fasted for a week. I thought I would fast as I usaully did, just drinking water, but my stomach rebelled. I found I must drink something with some nutrition in it, like juice or broth, if I fast for more than a day or two.

I have fasted a few times. Once I did it because I had to (before a blood test), and the other times it was my own choice to fast. I planned on fasting for 3 days, but the first time I couldn't do it, and I started eating again after 1½ day. The second time it went much better and I managed to fast for 3 days. I didn't eat any food at all, I only drank a lot of water. There were 2 reasons why I decided to fast. I was curious to find out what would happen to my thoughts and feelings if I fasted, and I wanted to quit eating unhealthy food and fasting was a way to clean my body before I started eating more healthy food. The first time I tried to fast the hunger got too much for me and I didn't fast more than 1½ day, but the second time I managed to achieve my goal. In the beginning I was really hungry, but after a while I didn't feel the hunger very much any more. Fasting made me very irritable, so I my surroundings didn't enjoy my fast very much but I was feeling pretty good after the first day and I had more energy than I would have imagined.
