I feel somewhat depressed when I reach the middle of the novel that I'm reading, only when it's a good book. I almost don't want the story to end. I guess it's because books are expensive (at least they are here in the Philippines) and I know that I HAVE to buy a new one when I'm done with what I'm reading now. This is the only time I find it awful that I read too fast.

If you have access to internet, why dont you read online? There are many books available free of charge in the internet. I tried printing out Hans Christian Andersen's stories since most of his fairy tales are not on sale in the bookshop. Gave up the idea very soon, he's simply a most prolific author and I have printed enough to fill up 2 arch ring files, yet not even halfway through.

I always check the stuff online before buying it. If I could get something for free then I would! But the books that I want aren't always available online :)

Hehehehe.. you have no choice but to end it, perhaps next time you should slowly read books, but I don't know if you could really control that. Anyhow, there are book clubs or book sales here in your country, you could avail of those so that it would be cheaper, plus you could just be in contact with friends who are fond of reading as well so that you can swap books. Good luck! Finish the book already! heheheheh

I do go to book sales, unfortunately, they rarely have anything good or anything that I like. I actually have a "bathroom book" (you know, to help the bowels moving?) that I bought from a book sale and it was really cheap. However, I've been reading it for 2 months now. That's how uninteresting the plot is for me :)

Happens to me a lot too. You get into a good book with characters that you like and you just don't want it to end. I read really fast as well so I understand how sometimes that can be a problem. Especially if you are low on funds to buy books. "When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes"--Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus

...and you just want the plot to delve deeper and to reveal more secrets that will make you say "I never would have guessed that that would happen!" *sigh* I guess I better start saving up again for the next book :) I'm half done with what I have right now.

It happens to me too, when I'm reading a novel, or a book, which I'm really enjoying. I always get somewhat sad, when I finish a book that I really enjoy. I'm sure it's like that for a lot of people. I'm not sure why, but it's just the way it is, I believe.

I know how you feel. I hate when i read through books so fast mainly because i would like for them to continue on. I become involved with the characters and want to see them grow even more than they do in the books. I was so happy when I found out Twilight was a series and not to mention the Sookie Stackhouse series which two more books in that series will be coming out this year. I just can't stand when an author ends it and i think it could have gone further becuase i end up in love with them to be honest.
