who should be responsible for our old people?

this question is inspired by a mylotter here, who ask for help how would she say no to her mon.
reading it, i keep asking myself who should be responsible for our old people.
just as i reponsed, in China,young people should take all what the old people need,if anyone didnt, he would be despised by others.
but, some countries has different culture and life style. some old people don't live with their children, and neednt their help,because they think it not tradtional.
as you know, when men becomes older and older,they would feel lonly also, if they havent regular income, what could they live by?
it's a society problem also.
so, who should be responsible for our old people?

I don't think it's a society proplem,but a ethic one.our parents bring us up and give us dwelling,food,cloth and the chances to accept aducation.However what we can return to them is quite negligible.We always focus more our attention on our own family, our kids and take their love and dedication as a matter of course.And then ,when we grow old and things repeat.Our kids treat us like what we do to our parents.It's awful.So I like to live with my parents,take care of them and give them a happy life in their old age.

It is us. I mean when we were not able to speak, not even able to stand properly and could not do any work, then our parents look after us and made us that capable that we can now earn money and live by ourself. Then it is our responsibility to look after themselves. They deserve it for sure.
In ancient India, people used to go to forest for worship of God after being old. They used to live on forest food and worship God every time. Now, this is not a tradition so, the responsibility should be taken by young generation.
