Yesterday I started a discusstion "what kind of people you want to be if given the chance?",but until now no one has responed it.I don't think the topic is a cliche, but I didn't have the right or the excuse to blame anyone.what's more, the high record respondes I receive is just four.So did you have such experiences? Can you share with me the highest responding record you received, and what is the most key factor to affect the respond number?

Good discussion. English is not my first lauguage, mylot is my first English forum which I stay.My English is poor.I need to considere a long time and check the English words when I add a new discussion .If the discussion received 0 resoond,I am feeling very disappointed.

You are new to this website and you will have your day too! May be you can get 100+ responses to your discussion. Who knows? It all depends on luck and some innovation in your discussion!

a little dissapointed , but must learn to get used to it. after all, other mylotters are busy creating their own discussions too, and only spare a little time on ours.

Well, it could mean a lot of things. Firstly, you should consider adding friends and using myLot as a social networking site - that way your friends will usually respond to your discussions for you (and you're expected to respond to their discussions, too). Also, make sure your questions MAKE SENSE. I understand that English may or may not be your first language, but as someone who's a native speaker, I just don't understand the question that you posted - "what kind of people you want to be if given the chance"? Try to make the question clearer and elaborate as much as you can. Also, TAG your discussion (I'm not sure if you did this or not). By tagging it with certain "key" words, anyone who searches for that word will come across your discussion. Hope these help!

Thank you so much for your good advices! You are right English is not my first language,I will try my best to make the topic clearer."what kind of people do you want to be if given the chance" means"I want to be Bill.Gates or anyone I want to be,if given the chance " ,is this clearer? I look forward to your respnd for this.Thank you!

I have started around 20 discussions in my short 5 days of being a member. So far I only have one with 0 responses, it is about Wii Fit and Yoga. I guess people are just not that interested in that topic, which is fine. My highest number has been 30 responses and I think I average around 8 or 9 responses per discussion. I would love to see my number grow as well but it takes time. To get a lot of responses I think 3 things are very important. One is putting things in their proper category on Mylot. Life is one of the best because almost everyone will have that as an interest. The problem is that many people post in categories such as "Life" and some people never get a chance to see your discussion. Two is having a lot of friends, because they will be more likely to respond to you. And finally posting a quality topic that will intrigue others. I wish you all the best in the future on getting a lot of responses.

Yeah, it's a terrible feeling. I have started three discussions since I signed up, however, there is no response so far. Why? Is it because my English is too poor that Mylotters can't understand? My god!
