I would advice you to check out this article I have written on academia-research.

Check out the points I brought up in that article. Check out the links I provided in there linking to complains by writers from various forums who have not ben paid. Also check out the comments in my articles left my various people who have been scammed.
Also I note that you have asked our fellow MyLot member tonijane016 in her thread about whether she is still being paid. Note that currently, she has earned $224 form academia-research. Also note that she posted (in her opening post) that she was going to receive $48 in her first month. It's been 8 months ago since she joined the site.
Now do your maths. If $48 a month is how much she makes, how much do you think academia-research owes her now?
