This is a very interesting topic. I want to be a writer one day. If I am retired, perhaps I will write a science fiction book as it is my favorite type. Or I will write a cooking book so that I can share my cooking experience with many people.
I love China

i like to write a novel represented some part of my life, young or mid-aged part. when time goes away, i know more and more deep about what i have done, why i haven't gotten things i want.there can be some vigor, some regret, some love that you want to speak out, or memory forever.
words are fascinating and helpful.
if i'm good at drawing, i will express some feeling by a painting.
if i'm good at playing piano, i wish to express my feeling by a self-created music.

If I were retired, I think I'd write a self-help book. Not because I know lots about it, but because I know even less about writing a novel. Also, more importantly, because self help books sell more than novels (even though they're only average in quality).
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

whichever that i'm good at or better at, that's what i'd write! i'd like to write a book on my life experiences but it would be pure narcissism to publish that LOL haha who's gonna read it anyway? it won't sell of course i'm a normal person, not like a celebrity ... My friends won't definitely buy, because they'll be asking for free copies from me..hahaha.
