If you want to help and donate something to charity, what will it be? money or useful things like clothes and canned foods?

Well, this week I just donated my hair! I also donate time every week (about 8 hours) to volunteer with marine wildlife. And I foster pets as well so I guess you could say I'm donating my time daily in a way, as well as giving items to these organizations periodically as well.

Hello sophie! I would rather donate canned goods or some clothes than donating money because we can be sure that our donations would go directly to the needy. If it's money, we're not sure because who knows, it might go into the good hands of somebody.

Hey there! I have done donating clothes, rice, canned goods, medicines, blanket, and even blood. Yes, blood. I donated blood for the first time last year and I am planning to donate again this coming August through the project of a local Television Network here, GMA-7. Last February they had this blood letting project together with the Philippine Red Cross and I felt a little disappointed that I wasn't able to join and donate my blood. Oh, by the way my blood type is AB+. It is good to donate your blood on the physical and social aspect. When you donate blood you loose blood after that the blood that you loose will be replenish by new blood. That would be good because you now have fresh and rejuvenated blood in your body. The old ones were replaced. On the social aspect you can help others who are in need of blood specially with the type of blood that I have. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

I think I'd donate time or man power - like do stuff for them. I don't have much to donate in terms of money but I think that with enough time, I can solicit donations from other people that would amount to more than what I could give if I were just to grab some from my wallet. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

hmm i would prefer to donate clothes and food.... because when you donate money you cannot be sure whether the money really goes to those people.... i mean logically.... when you convert the $$.. to asian currency.. its alot of money... and i doubt they are even getting half of what people from developed countries send....

Yes you have a point there. Some organizations (not all) are using money for their own personal interests. Thank you for the response

I think the most useful thing that I have to donate at this point is myself. I can donate my time and whatever talents I might have.

Two years ago there was the snow disaster in my country, at that time we donated clothes. And one year ago there was a serious earthquake, we donated money. I think any donation will be fine for the people who are in need. I love China

I barely have things at home to donate. Clothes for example, I never give them away because I could barely afford to buy a new one. I use them until they are torn and faded! LOL So they're never good enough to give away. So I'd rather donate money.

I think I will like to donate some things like canned goods and some clothings as its hard to donate money because you will never know if the money you gave will be use to reach the needy persons. There are some who are using the donation money for their personal interests only.
