Welcome! I have read about some foreign students coming on sites like this to help them improve their english. I think it can help you to some extent, Especially in day to day normal conversations and modern dialect, but it will be difficult to learn the proper way to speak because many of the english speaking people are lazy, even on here, and don't use proper english and grammar. Good luck and I hope you have fun!

Hi in there, Yes, here in mylot, you can actually improve your oral english ability. It is so because your communication skills is hastened. You encounter different vocabularies and what happens is that you tend to search for the meaning of these words and when you found it you'll get to understand it.
Definitely when you get to understand it, it becomes a part of your english vocabulary which then will be used when you are faced with the actual oral communication.

Well, since mostly those that have already posted that the only english improvement that you could developt here would be grammar, you might be able to improve your english skills by actually talking to other people.
Skype happens to be a good instant messaging system that you could use to contact anyone and there, practice you english skills with real oral conversations.
You just have to install it in your computer, and look for other Skype user who would be willing to practice with you (^_^ )
I hope you have luck on that~!

Hello Pengyanzhi! Welcome to myLot. Actually, I'm relatively new here too. I've only been here since mid-February. But I've been enjoying the discussions and learning much from them. I'm sure you'll pick up a handful and learn more new things too as you go along here in myLot.
Good luck!

I think that it is great that you are learning another language. I have been told that English is very hard to lear, because of all of the rules. I wish you all the luck. I am sure that if you read the posts and ask for explinations when you are confused many here on my lot would be glad to explain.
I would caution you to be aware that much of the English I have seen on this site is not proper, but if you can grasp it then you should do fine.
Have a great day.
