I like to read at home where I can kick back and relax and enjoy the book. I have several places around the house where I like to curl up with my books so it's really a lot nicer than any library.

my personal choice would be to read at home. it is more comfortable there, i can do whatever i want while reading, eat, sit, lie down, in the living room or in my bedroom.
sad to say, here we dont have a library where i can borrow books or read from there.

I am very sorry to hear that you don't have a library nearby. :(

Personally, I prefer to read at home, especially in the comfort of my bedroom.
Mostly the reason, I go to the library is to drop off books that I borrowed. Once in a while, I would go in to browse and borrow, but I rarely stick around to read inside the library itself.
There was a time when I was between jobs that I would hang out in the library. I would usually bring my laptop, and work. But that is a rare occasion.

I work in the library, so I don't really go there on my days off. Libraries are not quiet anymore. I know in our city, someone who probably didn't like to be "shushed" as a child demanded that we make the library more "friendly". Patrons get very belligerent if we ask them to follow the rules. And, if they complain to the main branch, it is the staff that gets into trouble. As a result, our libraries are not very quiet places to read.

I prefer to read at home where I can be comfortable and the environment is quiet. I visit my local library in order to choose books to read. Some books are for reference purposes and so are kept in the library all the time. Therefore when I need to look at that sort of book I must read it in the library. These days that doesn't happen very often but it did happen a lot when I was a student.

hello fineartist
Do you prefer to read in libraries or at home? i would prefer to read a good book in the privacy of my own home. lol but i have in the past before went to the library and sat there for awhile and read. i used to go the library all of the time when that i was going to school. it was one of my favorite hang outs at school. lol it sounds like that you enjoy visiting your local library lots more than i do. it has been a couple of years since that i have visited my local library. lol i need to get myself a new library card and go visit my library. i only live like five minutes away from the library and i hardly ever think about going there. lol our libraries here in Tennessee have movies that you can check out and return back. my mother-in-law does that for my sons when that they go spend the night at her apartment.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

I do alot of reading (about 7-10 books a month) and I am a stay at home mom, so I read at home. The last time I read in a library was when I was in college working on term papers or studying for exams.
There is nothing like the comfort of home where you can cuddle under a warm blanket and read to your hearts content~especailly in the winter months. And, in the spring and summer, I take my books on the back porch while the kids are swimming. You can't beat the luxury of that!

I much prefer to read at home. I can snuggle up in bed or on the couch with a good book for hours. I can eat, smoke, drink tea, whatever makes me comfortable. The only time I ever read at the library was when I was in school or using a research book that couldn't be checked out.

I am much comfortable reading books at home because I prefer reading while lying on my bed and have something to munch near my bedside table.

thanks for your response. :)
it seems that lots of people prefer reading in the comfort of their homes, rather than reading in the library.
