I live in South Florida and was sad that I did not have tickets to the Robin Williams show, "Weapons of Self-Destruction", down here for this week. Then I heard that he had canceled his shows. And now I finally heard the reason that he canceled his shows.
Robin Williams needs an aortic valve replacement, a procedure that calls for open heart surgery. He is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at a hospital here in Miami, Florida, where he was performing his now-canceled show.
It is hard to believe it but Robin Williams is 57 years old. When asked about this situation he said he is "touched by everyone's support and well wishes."
I wish him a speedy and safe recovery. My thoughts and prayers go out to this talented performer. God speed Robin Williams!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

DArn I never heard or read this.
sad when every one dont get all the news.
Sure hope he gets along great now that it is fixed and 57 really not that old! I think pretty young to have to have that kinds of surgery he must over work his heart.

Yes, I agree. I think 57 sounds very young for this sort of surgery. I heard that his brother had had heart surgery a couple of years ago too. I am wondering if it is something that is inherited in his family.
Thanks for your comment and have a great day!

I wish Robin Williams a speedy recovery also. A few hours ago, I watched a clip of a Williams interview shown during the "Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" 29th anniversary show. He did jokes about people performing Shakespeare while wearing tights.
57 really isn't that old. I believe David Letterman was only 52 or 53 when he had to have heart bypass surgery. At least Williams' problem isn't as severe.

Was David Letterman's surgery the same procedure as the one they are doing for Robin Williams? I didn't think it was, but I could be wrong. Robin Williams is such a talented person. I hope all goes well for him.

I love all of the things he is in. I began watching him in the 1970's on Mork and Mindy. That was one of my favorite shows. He is such a talented and versatile actor and comedian. I hope he gets well soon.

I'm in Florida, too, and as you know the hospitals in Miami are excellent so I know Robin is in good hands. It's unfortunate that he had to cancel his show but at least he'll be fine once he's recovered and I heard that he will reschedule his shows here for a later date and the the already sold tickets will be honored then.

I know the hospitals are great here. I heard that he had actually canceled the rest of his shows due to the surgery, etc. I haven't heard any further news. I am not sure if he has already had the surgery or not.

Poor Robin Williams! I hadn't heard about this until now. I hope he gets better soon. He is too young to be sick like that or die. I hope everything goes well for him. Poor man. He must be nervous. That just goes to show you that no matter how much money you have or how much fame you have you are a human being when all is said and done. No amount of money or fame can help you or save you from surgery, etc.

I havent heard anything from the news. I actually dont get to see that much tv anymore and most of my online routines dont let me get to browse the news.
I do hope his operation was a success. He really is a very talented singer. Wow, I havent noticed that he's near 60 Ive always had the image of him on that song 'Rock DJ' during high school.

I know it is really scary how from one day to the next your life can just go upside down. And you know, it doesn't matter how much money you have when something like this happens to you. You can't buy your way out of surgery.
