The Clock Ends for 24 in Season 8

Jack Bauer is running out of time! This time, however, it isn't about a vital information that needs to be extracted from a terrorist but it is whether or not 24 will continue past next season, it is when Kiefer Sutherland's contract expires. Sutherland expressed his desire to send his character into retirement. Executive producers Evan Katz and Jon Cassar admitted that they're trying to figure out how the show will end, considering Jack Bauer's popularity among fans the the show's drama dark tone. They couldn't decide on what ending will be given on Jack Bauer, the plan had always been to kill him off, but they're thinking about the reaction of the fans when Bauer dies, on the other side the reaction of the fans if Bauer lives is also in question. Great show, great series, great character. I long for more seasons but I guess the show should have it's well-deserved rest and have a movie instead.
