The Real Meaning Of Life.

What would be the true nature of a meaningful existence? Possessions...high societal stature...public acclaim...importance among fellowmen....respectable social stance. ??? or all these in combination? At the outset, aren't our lives ,meaningless and our efforts to bring a meaning to it just exercises in futility? A lifelong bid to attrinute meaning to a mere existence !

I would thought about this topic sometimes but the answer has not seemed clearly yet. And for me, the real meanint of life is finding who i really is, what i really be good at.But i have not get the answer i expect, so i have to keep finding. The life of anyone won't keep unchanging, no matter the one who are happy or the one who are sad now,i think what we need to do is just keeping moving, enjoying the life we are living, and making the people beside us happy.

there are some of us who are contentedly living life. there are some of us who are continuously seeking the reason for our having been born into this world. truly, no one among us have the same conception of what is life is and, on why we continue to live in this world as it is. those who are contentedly pursuing life, good for them. for those who are continuously in pursuit of the reasons for their being, may they be able to find the answers in this lifetime. for so many have passed away without having found the answer to this nagging question which have stayed in their minds.

i think i have finally grasped the meaning of life. and the only i need to do is to live life to that purpose. but i have not done so yet. but i hope that soon i can live my life in conformity to that belief. cause i think that will bring serenity and happiness and contentment to my life. but it is no easy task to bring my life into that state. cause it involves sacrifice too. i need to change my life and live accordingly to my beliefs. but it is still worth all those sacrifices. we have all different kind of beliefs on what is the meaning of life. and many times we just wish what life should have been . but there is nothing we can do except to accept the fact what life is all about. but knowing what life really is , is such a very difficult task.

Yes, the true nature of meaningful existence is the real nature of life! This I may say, "LIFE: Live In Full Exitement!" But normally most people make it 'LIFA' that is, "Live In Full Adjustment!" Now the time has come for everyone to think, not just for living with independence, but for living with FREEDOM! Thanks and have a good day Mayka!

sukumar, i am always pensive for so many times on this issue. i just couldn't grasp the real meaning of why there is a need for my existence in this world at all. when i was much younger, i never realized that this is the reason why i always felt unhappy about living life. when i was 30 years old though, a great thing happened to me. persons requested me to spare sometime for a bible study. at first, it had always been a no to them taht i gave. time came though when i was forced by circumstances to share with them the spare time i had. they had always been plentiful then as my children were still very small ones. so, i was a full time stay at home mom by then. how grateful i am that i listened. now, i know that i am around in order to pay service to my God. but, i tell you, my friend, that the deep sadness that always envelops my heart since childhood is still very much with me. the only difference is, my life now has a good direction towards my purpose of living.

As for me, my concept would be similar to the strain of thought describing our existence necessitated by parameters including compulsion enforced by personal alliances and relationships.Aren't we all in a way forced to exist because we have little other choice?

The true meaning of this "temporary life on earth" is to follow GOD and not get caught up in worldy things that again, are just "temporary". Like who has the most money, nicest house, most expensive cars, name brand clothes, pride, greediness, and power. We are only here for a short time, but if you are a Christian, you look foward to the eternal life to come where you will be with GOD for ever in the kingdom of heaven. John 3:16 For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

we exist because of different reasons.. but for me life is about joy, love and sacrifice... we will never understand our existence unless we invest our life in something beautiful... it would be meaningless if we remain selfish,, most of all its about giving glory to the One who is the author of our lives..

We exist for reasons that are obvious.Sometimes living becomes one whole lot of compulsion, fulfilling our duties and responsibilities.

As a sort of Nihilist I am not convinced there is a meaning of life. I'm not sure there is a grand point to anything or anyone happening. It shouldn't be something we're worrying about if it isn't something we can effect or understand

This may sound corny, but I totally believe that it is true. The meaning of life is love, because God is love. In the end, the only thing that people will remember about you is how you treated them. If you treated them well, they will have fond memories of you, if not, they will want to forget you. Material things don't mena much to me at all and I could care less about how great someone thinks they are. Everything that they are and have is a gift from God, but you have to work hard at being a good person.

Love is no more weighed much ...now life is largely assessed on what you made for yourself or the family.

Hi sukumar! Personally, i do think that the true meaningful existence for me is to have experienced all the pain and sorrows yet survived it all with strength and grace. I would have a meaningful existence if I have lived my life to the fullest and being able to have a well balanced life. I am not really wanting much possessions or much wealth or great achievements here but having enough possessions and money for myself and my husband so we can live a secured life until our last breath and will still have enough so we can help other people in need. Lastly, my meaningful existence will be complete if I have achieved a meaningful relationship with God and my husband, family and friends. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

Hi sukumar, The real meaning of life for me is to experience joy, to be happy. Some people might think that they need possessions in order to be happy, but others may know that we can be happy under any circumstances. We have to realize that life is short even if one lives to be one hundred and that we must take it one day at a time. If we always expect the best we are much more likely to experience that joy. One other thought, we should try to pass that happiness along to others, as it will add to our own joy. Blessings.

To be happy and cheerful all the time - it's the aim of most of us. However you need finances to seek enjoyments in full.

Our mission in life is to leave the world better than when we came into it. This doesn't have to be a big thing like the invention of penicillin, but if we can make someone's life happier, turn a bad kid around, love a child and help him grow up to be a compassionate adult then we've made a difference and our mission is accomplished. All those things you mentioned are not important at all, but the impact we have on the lives of others are.

Since we are currently destroying the Earth at a faster rate with each year passing... I think we have failed in our mission.

The real maning in life is money. Without money, life has no meaning, no value. When you have a lot of money, other people also start respecting you. If you have no money, people will disrespect you. Nobody will love you. It is money that has the power to purchase anything, including love.

While you are right... it is a very sad state of affair. Because life should not be like that. It is not what life is about. While there might be a billion people with all the money on the planet... Where does that leave the other 5 billion? Don't they have the right to live?

I think the meaning of life is to know God and help others to know God as well. To help others get saved by accepting Jesus Christ into their hearts. so I believe the meaning of life, is to get saved and help others get saved.

In the present world how many among us are bent upon helping others? Realization of God seem only to satisfy personal needs and likes to the maximum extent possible.

everyone has his/her thinking for the meaning of life, some think it in the sense of money, some want it in the form of fame, some think that when they complete the responsibilities of life, then they have attained the meaning of life. I just try to be a good human, a good friend to my friends, a good mother for my children and a good wife to my husband, besides this i dont have many big aims, just to want my children to be happy and successful.

I am afraid I have a very Zen-like perspective on this. Universally, my life doesn't mean anything, it just is. My soul, spirit or whatever one may want to call it, is learning something each day as I practice zazen (meditation), but whether it is here on earth to learn or not, I cannot say. So, I create a purpose for my life and that purpose is to recognize who I really am. Whether that means anything or not though, I cannot say it is a purpose, not a meaning. To me, life is just living and that can sometimes feel sad or irritating, and sometimes it can feel just like a huge cosmic joke that has me laughing.. - Derek

Possessions? My house is old. My car is rugged. High social stature? Oops! I consider myself one because I am educated and learned, I think. Public acclaim? My next-door neighbor doesn't even like me. These things don't matter to me. But if you give me a Pajero or a trooper or a Toyota Hiace, why will I not accept. I like a little comfort, too. But these things don't spell the meaning of life. It is the happiness that we find in loving our family and friends that makes life real. One day, when we get back to God, we could say, Sigh! That was a good life.
