I just finished reading Prey, by Michael Crichton, which investigates possibilities of advancements using biology and nanotechnology! Crichton recently passed away, much to my regret, because he had such a way of presenting issues that the society is going to have to deal with in the very near future, particularly the ethical issues regarding the sciences. This book depicts a terrifying scenario of runaway swarms of nanoparticles. If you enjoy being scared to death, this would be a good read for you.

I read this book a few years and absolutely loved it. The story line itself was really great, but I agree that he has a very good way of presenting issues we may have to deal with one day. Of course, he writes about the extreme of what can go wrong, but thats what makes it good.

He was a master storyteller, even the extremes he imagined were believable!
