Why do you read?

Well,I do like reading very much! When i was in high school,i spent all my leisure reading these famous novels or other things wrote by famous writers!I do like the life and world that they gave to me,I enjoyed very much! Now I work already and I don't have too much time to read this long things,ok,I know this is a excuse!I prefer to read these mangizes and newspapers,I can grab a lot of current information from this!

There are several reasons for why I read. 1. To learn about things that otherwise I would not have knowledge of. 2. I read for entertainment. Erma Bombeck is a good author for reading funny stuff. 3. I read for self improvement. We could all stand some improvement in our lives. 4. Reading instructions for a new project. I have lots of knitting, crocheting, and sewing projects that involve a certain amount of reading. There are lots more reasons for reading. I agree with you, JannaLee, that reading is a good tranquilizer. A good book that does not take a lot of thought is a great thing to fall asleep by.

Hi Janna, despite all that modern technology can offer, I still find that reading is my favorite activity - it helps to relax and de-stress after a hard day at work. Like you, I often read before I sleep; it does help but sometimes if the story is too interesting, I wouldn't want to put the book down, trying to read until the end!

Hi, I do read not to spend my time but i read to vast my knowledge and i hope everyone knows how reading vast the knowledge. I read most of the time on internet and i rarely use printed books. Cheers..........

i read because i enjoy it.. i mean for me nothing could substitute what reading can do for us..

I read because I enjoy reading a book, a real book, not an e-book. My eyes tire easily when I read from computer monitor. So, whenever I can I read a real book.

i read courtroom novels. sometimes horror novels of stephen king. but mostly murder novels. i like the works of philip margolin. not sure if i spell his name right. im sorry. yes i guess its a tranquilizer since im not able to finish my reading coz every time i start, i start falling asleep! =)

If the book is like hyper super extra interesting, I will read it. But otherwise, no. I don't read fiction books at all. In my opinion most of them is just waste of our precious time on the earth.

Reading is a good way to pass time, and reading helps to gain indirect experience, which you will appreciate in due time. Only with large exposure to the world can one feel literally the happiness of enjoying life. It gets us closer to nature, to people, to remote places, to ancient history, whatever. While enjoying the new inventions in front of us, spare some time in reading. You will not regret.

Ya reading is something which we can enjoy, we can travel the places or the places in the novels which we read just by reading them, we will feel as if everything is happening in front of our eyes, but to be frank the books are ones real friends, to be a good reader one need to understand the importance of reading, all cant become a good book/novel reader. Its a beautiful habbit which i enjoy, i usually read books in my lesuire times like, when m returning from my college in bus, when i am alone at home and before going to sleep, that too i just love novel reading. I wish if more people develop this book reading habbit then people will never feel lonely in their life.

I like reading ,just because i want to go to another world to find something i lost.

i am not a book worm but i like to read, even in the net, if i get interested in something i don't mind to read even a huge wall text. i like to learn new information. i have never bought a book for me to read because i want to buy a book that i know is really good to read i need to ask opinions of others if you know what i mean!

I read for entertainment, relaxation, and sometimes to help me sleep. When I read, I am able to "escape" reality for just a little while and relax in another world. I have always been a reader, and even more so now that I am older.

i agree that reading is a good way of spending one's leisure time... the other reason why i read is because i want to learn more about whats happening around me... reading is the other way to continue learning... it makes our mind continue working... it makes the mind widen its horizon especially if you're already working, sometimes we dont even know whats happening around coz our focus is work work work... our mind became stagnant... so in order make our mind working, lets read....

i read for my work or need some help from books .when i was pregnanted,i used to read everyday tried to know more information about grow of baby or what kind food i should eat or what i should prepare for my birth.it really helped me a lot from books.i alwasy went to read book about humand resource for the need of my work.

I read because I hear its a good book, I read because I want to relax, I read because I want to learn more words. Most of the time I read because I'm brought into an abyss of action, romance and suspense without taking a single step and yet your heartbeats goes over 80.
