Do you work out?

I go to the gym twice a week, on weekends and the other days I work out at home, which involves running on the treadmill and some yoga. I also dance for fun at times and jog in the morning if I am not late to work or take a walk in the evening if I am not tired. If I think that I have put on some weight, I put in extra time for exercises until I lose it. Do you work out regularly? What are the routines you follow? Are you a fitness freak?

Hi nikky, I used to work out a bit but not anymore. Too lazy. I would love to be a fitness freak but as things stand, exercising isn't really high on my passion list. Cheers!

I'm a qualified fitness teacher, and though I don't teach any more I still feel guilty if I don't work out. But too much can lead to problems with your joints later on - like it did with me. I hate running, so I go on the reclining bike and steppers. When I'm feeling droopy, there's nothing like a long walk to lift my spirits. When I'm feeling crabby, I hit the weights!

Yes I agree that too much can lead to complications. It is always good to get your routine chalked out by a teacher or a proffesional source.

My friends does it 5 times a week, though I'm not into it. Sometimes I thought of having a work-out.. However I have no time for it.. I'm too busy, well tried it sometimes though I do not continuously do it for many times..

You could make workouts more fun by doing it whilst you listen to music or running up and down the stairs instead of taking the lift , the little things do add up and you will feel better.

It is really nice to do workout. Running and yoga are the best workouts because it keeps your body active. It also increases mental power. Well I am always planning to do some work out but ultimately due to some activity or other I just fail to implement it. I want to gain some weight. What can you recommend me to gain weight?

hmm to gain muscle weight you have to exercise and eat a high protein diet. On the other hand if you want to gain calories, I would say lots of icecreams, bananas and milk at night, avacados, nuts, chocolates lol, all the yummy stuff.

do what highschool wrestlers do when they need to gain weight, eat 2-4 peanut butter sandwiches with milk right before you go to bed, stop doing aerobic workouts, they cause you to lose weight, but do situps and alot of upper body work so the extra weight you put on isnt just fat, if you do alot of weight training and situps while doing that you will bulk up pretty fast, I did that only instead of pb sandwiches, for lunch i would eat 4 packs of poptarts and 3 bags of cheetos or doritos whichever was available in the school cafeteria, and I'd just eat a regular dinner, I put on 20 pounds in 2 n a half weeks without getting fat

everywhere I go is basically within walking distance so I walk rain or shine, I do about 100 crunches a day benchpress on tuesdays and thursdays, heavy curls on wednesday, heavy military press friday, and heavy lat pull downs on monday, I do pullups daily, I do work out alot, but wouldnt consider myself a fitness freak, I spend about 30 min each day doing whatever workout is scheduled.

There was a time that I went to the gym to keep myself fit. Unfortunately I was not able to continue considering that I got busy with work. Well, I have a treadmill at home and if I have the time, I go for some home fitness activities. I also do push ups and sit up from time to time. Its not to become Mr. Universe but just to keep myself fit.

I used to before but then because I changed job, I can't find time to go to the gym! Actually, I don't feel like going to the gym, its just that my parents wanted me to and that I need it because I have scoliosis. I really have to exercise not to make my condition worse!

No, I don't work out, and I really, really need to. I own a treadmill, and just said this morning that I want to start walking on it again. I am not a runner, as I do not have the stamina for it. I used to work out all the time and I was very fit. I also danced a lot, too, as that is great exercise. I also have a pool, and this past summer I swam laps for about one week, and then I quit. It's terrible, I know. I complain about my health all the time, but it is up to me to try to do something about it. Thanks for this discussion! It has helped to motivate me.

I am glad that you feel motivated. Sometimes we raise the bar too high for ourselves and try to do everything at once. I think we should take things one at a time and keep on building over it. Consistent efforts will absolutely payoff. You can also write affirmations and read it every day to keep you motivated. All the best.

Yes, you can say that I am a fitness freak. I work out four to five times in a week. I do not go for jogging in the morning as I am not an early riser but I go to gym in the evening. I run at least fifteen minutes in trade-mill and after that I start weight training. Generally I spend one and half hour in gym. I also take balanced diet and protein shake to maintain the supply of protein in my body.

I am shocked to hear that you are doing many exercises .I prefer yoga because its a natural therapy to lose weight .But doing all the physical exercises ,we may lose weight but its temporary. We will regain it back.We should control our diet.I walk for one hour daily. But I also do domestic work a lot.so I am fit.

How nice of you to be really vigilant with your health and fitness. what I do is to use my computer as my instructor. I came to learn that before you do your regular exercise, you need to do some stretching to condition the body and end it with the same. I don't do exercise to trim me down as I am a slender person. it is in my genes but I do it for flexibility and to stay healthy.

i wish i will have the chance to work out. i used to work out on a gym, however when i stopped my weight doubled! anyways, i turned to the regular badminton group, however it did not last since my team mates got too busy and did not bother to join so the group dissolved. i tried working out on my own, having support of my 2 kids running around like havoc and running after them was the best work out ever! =)

Hi, good thing you make time for exercise. It's so humid in my country that I am really lazy all the time. i used to go to the gym 6 days a week and it helped me lose weight. Now I just walk and jog around my village when I have the time. When my friends and I have dinner out, I am not able to exercise at night anymore of course. I plan to take yoga classes once a week as well. :)

Unfortunately due to ill health I am unable to. I know people feel better and have better weight control when they do so. I imagine with all the exercise you do you are in fairly good shape.
