Hello!I'm new to Mylot and was looking for anyone out there that owned a floating home? I live in a marina in the Pacific Northwest. I've owned this home for a couple years now and love it down here. Our marina is adjacent to one of, if not the largest wildlife refuge in the country. Over 5,500 acers of plush wetlands that give home to thousands of birds. I have a wonderful home built in 1986 and have put many hours into remodeling and adding on to the house. I have a long ways to go too. So if you have interests in floating homes, (aka bouthouse, house boat) drop me a note!

I like the idea of a houseboat. I like the fact that your so close to the water I am a big water lover. I also like boats, but do you get sea sick living on a boat? Does the houseboat rock? I never been on one and I am curious.

The boathouse is very stable. The construction of a floating home's foundation involves logs and stringers criss crossed. From that point going up, its your everyday land home. No, I don't get sea sick living here. I live on a tide river called Lakeriver. The house is attached to the docks with very large chains and movement is very limited. There are not enough big waves to cause major motion. There are floating homes on major rivers that do tend to rock a little more then my home. I have a boatwell for my boat. It's basically a garage on water. The best part of living on the water is the wildlife. Spring is coming and the baby otters should be out soon!
