My favorite movie is "The Notebook" but I also really like the new Romeo and Juliet movie with Clair Danes and Leonardo Dicaprio. I really enjoy both of the movies and I cried to both of them more than once.
So what is your favorite movie/s. And why do you like them so much? What is your favorite part of the movie/s?

Well I don't have a single all time best movie.
I actually don't know a single movie as my all time best movie.
I even tried to think on the basis of category but still there was not a conclusion for it.
I think I liked Shawshank Redemption, Rescue Dawn, Rambo Series, Ocean Series, Pirates of the Carribean, Bourne Ultimatum, Prestige, Life is Beautiful, Slumdog Millionaire, etc.
There are so many that it is difficult for me decide one.
I even watch Hindi and Marathi Movies.
In Hindi there are Dil Chahta hai, Hera Pheri, Ghajini(Momento Remake),Golmaal Fun Unlimited, Karma, Tiranga, Yashwant, Salaam Bombay, etc.
Some of Marathi movies are Shwaas, Pachadlela, De Dhakka, Khabardar, etc.

imaginelove,
My current favorite would be "The Ultimate Gift" which is an adaptation of Jim Stovall's novel who incidentally is the same author for your favorite "The Notebook". And in both shows we have James Garner being cast in the movie.
The film is humorous, witty, thought provoking and touching. There are indeed some life lessons to be learnt here with the 12 tasks (gifts) which the demised Ray Stevens planned and painstakingly went about to ensure it being completed by grandson Jason Stevens posthumously. The tasks were meant to teach his grandson the very values and wisdoms of life. It really showed the loving concern of a grandfather as he quipped: "Any process you are going through will get tougher before it gets easier. That's what make learning a gift. Even though pain is your teacher. " All because he does not wish and want his grandson to grow up taking things for granted, spoilt and lead a flagrant life like his children and their families.
It is just provoking watching him (Jason Stevens) as he goes about completing his tasks and learn a lesson with each completion. It was so challenging to a point where he was even made homeless, friendless and with much co-incidence met a little girl, Emily who claimed to Ted Hamilton the trusted caretaker of Ray's will: "Look at him, does he look like he has anything to offer? " and "I plan on knowing Jason for the rest of my life." A little girl who does not ask or seek for anything (literally) for befriending Jason Stevens and unbeknown to all is suffering from leukemia.
These tasks along with the gifts attached are indeed tough to begin with and true to his grandfather's words. However, he does not stand to loose anything at all as the ultimate task once completed will actually give him the full inheritance of his estate, investments and business empire which his grandfather had built.
I felt that the whole movie is just simply enjoyable and thought provoking. It does have it fair share of wit, humor and touching scenes - an all rounder here.
Cheers.

I have a couple, one is called Honeysuckle Rose. It is a movie probably from the 80's, stars Willie Nelson, Slim Pickens and Diane Cannon. The other is Armagedon, everytime I see it I still cry. The first time I say it was at my moms house with my husband, brother and his wife, and my mom. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.

I think my favorite movie of all time was Rogers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" (the original, not the crappy remake!!) I love the part where she is trying to break up with him and instead ends up making a date. And my favorite song is "Some Enchanted Evening."
More recently, I like the movie "Juno". It is about a pregnant teenager, but it isn't all glorifying teenage pregnancy, she is ridiculed and stared at at school, and she has hormonal issues, and makes the tough decision to give the baby up for adoption. (No spoilers...I promise) My favorite part is when she is rushing up the staers to Bleekers bedroom and passes his mom on the stairs.
