Rove and Miers to Testify (FINALLY!) in Prosecutor Firings!

There has finally been an agreement reached about former White House Adviser Karl Rove and former Bush counsel Harriet Miers obeying orders to testify before Congress regarding U.S. Prosecutor firings. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090304/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_aides_testimony At issue is the firing of nine U.S. Attorneys and allegations that political considerations played a part in the firings of as many as four of them. An internal Bush Justice Department investigation had reached that conclusion despite administration denials. What do you think - will this settle the matter once and for all? Or will we simply hear various versions of "I do not recall" repeated over and over again? Annie

Hi annie, I don't think they will get much information out of Rove and Miers. They will simply duck by taking the 5th. It would be good though if the information would come out and the public found out what really happened.

MTAMH, Clinton fired them all at once as did Reagan and possibly other Presidents. The problem with what the Bush Administration did is it wasn't done at the start of the term and there is substantial evidence they firings were done for political reasons. The Justice Department is not supposed to be politicized. They don't work for a particular administration or party, they work for all of us. Annie

Here is "what really happened." The President fired Nine Federal Judges. He's allowed to do that if he wants to. He can fire them all if he wants to. Like Clinton did.

No - this will NOT settle the matter. They will deny and lie as did their superiors - at least Rove will. I don't know enough about Ms. Miers to predict her behavior. I have a gut feeling she'll be less elusive under oath than Rove or any of the others. I just feel that she's not as prone to deception as others. I think that's why she didn't speak publicly as often. She wouldn't be able to speak with duplicity.

I get that impression about Miers also. Now Rove, on the other hand, is about the most deceptive piece of crap ever born! Annie

I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly don't remember anything.

You're probably right; they'll get a mysterious case of D.C. Amnesia. Annie

Will this finally shut you people up? I doubt it.

And why should it? Don't you think we deserve to know the truth? Annie

Truth doesn't matter to you. If they don't say what YOU want them to say you will just call them liars anyway. That what you people are doing already.

I don't recall, I can't remember, I forgot, and whatever else excuse one could think of for not telling actual events lol I don't think this will settle anything and it will just waste a lot of money.
