Are you doing anything special for St. Patrick's Day or around that time?

I usually have corned beef and cabbage. Years ago, I had some decorations from when I would teach and some pencils to give out when I subbed and a shamrock necklace. But I don't have those anymore, I don't think I do anyway, I think I gave some away and some went into a rummage sale.
This year I see some pjs and some green flannel hats that look cute, but I can't afford to buy anything right now. I still have my grow a Leprechan. I think I might have a Kiss me I'm Irish pin somewhere.
So if you do something special for St. Patrick's Day, what is it?

Hi, writersedge..
We don't really celebrate St. Patrick's day here but on establishments where foreigners patronize the most, they actually have parties ot wear green stuff hahaha...
And when I was working at three international companies, we made clover leaves tto stick to the entire floor we are occupying and other departments also put the same leaves. Some also wore green shirts and some woth leprechaun hats hahaha...
And we have to greet our callers with "Happy St. Patrick's day" all day... so like halloween we had almost adopted some western culture here in Philippines... ^_^
Oh I remember being given a green cake that looks awful I thought it tastes awful too hahaha... which actually tastes pretty good...imagine a green banana cake hahaha.... =P I like it... though I had to drink whenever I take a bite on it cuz I don't want to smile with green crumbs stuck on my teeth hahaha... woot!

It sounds like the international companies know how to have a good time where you live. You know how to spell leprechaun better than I do. I want to make something green, too, but not with food coloring. I'll have to see how it works out. So you've had banana cake, I love banana cake and banana bread. Both very good. Really fun response. Thanks and take care.

I've never seen clover leaves on the floor, that's a new one. That would be fun if I substituted for Gym on St. Patrick's Day. We could play musical clovers or something. Thanks again and take care.

Think I am going to babysit our youngest grandbaby. Our daughter and her husband want to go to the parade for part of the day and just be downtown with all the craziness. We don't have any plans for that night so guess we will grab a bite to eat and come back home. I usually wear green and that's about the extent of my celebrating. Not very original.

I think spending the day with the grandbaby is great! You can tell a Leprochan story. Nice that your kids can get away together and go to the parade because you're helping out. I try to remember to wear something green, too. Check out response #5. Pretty neat. Thanks and take care.

I do not do much beyond wearing green. I have a friend who has a birthday that day, so often we celebrate with her and with her husband. It is fun to celebrate, though.

Check out response #5, sounds like they have fun.
A birthday party is a nice way to celebrate, too. I often wondered what it would be like to have a birthday on a day attributed to something else. Thanks and take care.

We never have done anything special other then wear something with green in it. Then a few years ago we lost my father in law on St Patricks Day. Now with each St Patricks Day I take out the time to remember the good times we had with Dad and keep his memory alive.

I love corned beef and cabbage but haven't made it for years. I try to wear green that day, but don't really do anything else of note on that date. This year, we'll be in London so I'm anxious to see how they celebrate it there.

I don't know if the Brits do much with it, many Irish aren't fond of many of them. But whatever goes on there, I can't wait until you report back to us. Have a wonderful time in England!
