Hi everyone...
Now supposing you could own just one form of transportation. Whatever you chose would be free of any operating expenses at all or repairs.
You could choose from a car, train, boat, plane, truck, canoe, bicycle or whatever you can think of..but you could only ever own one!
If you chose a plane, then you cant have a car...You get the picture!
Now what would you choose and why?
Take into account what you like to do in every day life, what your hobbies are, do you like to travel, but how will you get to work?

Without any limits on choice or concerns about the running expenses,I'd like one of these flying cars that they're trying to get into production..but if I can only have something that's actually in production at present,It'll have to be a Harrier Jump Jet.. There's a village green in front of my house where I could park it,if that wasn't available, there's a local airport about 7 miles from my house, and there's an area used as a helipad at work!Shopping- the supermarkets I go to have huge carparks!

Here's a link to an article about their history and development..they've been working on different designs of them since about the '20's..And there's some guys attempting a round the world flight in a new design that's basically a car with a parachute type airfoil wing attached! http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/automotive_news/4215922.html

I have not seen the flying car. But from the time I was a child, I said the day would come when we would fly around like the jetsons......no more icey roads to travel!

I would want the James Bond car that seems to change into everything at the most convenient moment. If I needed a boat I had the boat, If I needed the car I had the fast car and so on.

To be honest, as eccentric as I am I want a coach and horses. I adore horses, their droppings can be used for mulch, and well there is just something about this form of transportation. Of course, I realize in the US it makes travel to other states difficult, but for local use I'd love to travel this way.

To be honest, I never thought of that but I too would enjoy that! And if you had a boss you didnt like, you would be sure to park in front of his house to change the fuel!

That is my answer also. We have an amphibious vehicle here called the harbor hopper..It takes people on tours of the city streets then plops straight in the water for a tour of the waterfront

I think I would want one of those military amphibias assault vehicles. That way it would be seaworthy and anyone that gets in my way in traffic better watch out. Just imagine being able to drive to hawaii or just across the lake when you feel like it.
Cheers, Tianna

hi, i would chose bicycle.its going to be pollution free, low cost repairing for life . more than that i do not need extra time and effort for physical exercise to stay fit and parking won't be a problem ever...and i can go anywhere on it no matter how good or bad the road is. i even heard that people go on world tour on their bicycles...

Hi Sunil..I think you are the first to choose a bicycle...THey can fit where no other vehicle can and yes I have heard of world bike tours too! The exercise would be a bonus...But here in Canada, a bicycle would not be practical as I couldnt ride it in the winter

I would want a jetpack because you could just fly personally by yourself to just about anywhere you wanted to. I wouldn't even need it for transportation because there would be times when I would just go out for a ride when there was a beautiful night or something like that. I think that we should just forget about cars and learn how to make jetpacks for everybody.

That would be fun!

In my opinion, hands down, it would be the Ford Escape. I love sport SUV's. They are the ultimate performance vehicle. I look for versatility in a vehicle. It also doesn't hurt for a vehicle to have room to breathe.

I have to admit, I rented a Ford Escape one day and i certainly wanted to escape with it.. It was the smoothing riding SUV I have ever driven..

Considering that I have 4 small children and a husband what every the choice it would have to have enough room for all of us. Since we do not travel much except for the everday things and to work. I would have to go with a motor vehicle of some sort. I am not much on flying and I live in the MidWest so a boat would not be practicle. I just wish that they would manufacture a vehicle that would easily accomidate 4 car seats as my children are all under the age of 4 and need them.

Hello sandymay48! I would want to have a helicopter. Through it, I can go to a place with just hours. I mean not outside the country but provinces and cities here in the Philippines which would take days to go using cars. I chose helicopters rather than airplane because it's smaller than the airplane and that I could land it anywhere.

Good choice!..I think it would be much easier to park a helicopter than a plane at the mall!..
There would be no traffic jams either, unless everyone decided to get a heli too..

Hi,
As for me, I would like to own a plane. Its the most sophisticated public transport around and I can travel around the world with a plane. If I don't use the plane, I may consider renting or selling it to make a profit out of it. As for car, I can buy it if I want to as its of less value that a plane.
@sandymay48 (2030)

yes I agree, the plane can take you virtually anywhere..could be difficult to park in your driveway or at the grocery store though
The only problem is, you cant buy a car no matter how cheap, because remember, you can only have one type of transportation! But maybe you could sneak it on the cargo section of the plane...Something like a park and fly!

It would definitely be my car. I do a lot of things locally, but I don't take too many trips which would involve an airplane. Nor do I think I would want a boat because I do not get on the water much. I took one cruise, and it made me seasick. But I could not imagine not having my car.

Wise suggesion if the other things are of not much use...You cant take a plane to work!..unless you work at the airport
