Are kids these days getting a good education?

It seems like every other day there is a study that shows other countries are doing a better job with education than the U.S. What do we need to change?

In India the education system works like this:
3 to 5 years - Pre school - kindergarten
6 to 9 years - Primary education
10 to 13 - Middle school
14 to 16 - Higher secondary
17 -18 - Pre University
18 - Either 3 year Bachelor degree, 4 years engineering degree, medical etc.
What my son is studying now in 8th Standard (14 years), I studied only in Pre university. The syllabus is very comprehensive and I.Q. of this generation children are very high. Standard is quite high.

I agree with you that "The syllabus is very comprehensive and I.Q of this generation children are very high. Standard is quite high".
For that we need to say thanks to our Indian Teachers, Organizations and some online education sites like 24x7Guru.com for teaching the standard syllabus in a simplest manner.
