After the release of the Mountains CD, The country music group Lonestar announced that lead singer Richie McDonald was leaving to pursue a solo career.
As a huge Lonestar fan, I was very disappointed, but wanted to wait and see what the group would do before passing judgement. Well, I've listened to the new music, and quite frankly, I'm no longer a lonestar fan.
The new lead singer is nowhere near the caliber of McDonald, and the sound is so different, that it doesn't even sound like the same group anymore.
Is anyone else disappointed in the change?

I was also a big Lonestar fan and very disappointed to hear of Richie's leaving.
I have not yet heard any of the new music, so cannot form an opinion of the new Lonestar yet.
I think I have been avoiding hearing it to avoid being disappointed.

I hadn't heard anything on the radio, but saw them on one of the country music awards show, and I was just so disappointed.
I had heard that Richie was working on a solo album, but I don't know if it's out yet or not. If it is I haven't seen it.

I've only listened to Lonestar on the radio, so I don't have any of their former and current CDs. I do remember one song they did, Mr. Mom. I think that was Lonestar. I remember how awful I thought the lead singer sounded. Or maybe the song was just horrible. But I've not heard the voice of the new guy. I've only read a little about him.

Yes, Mr. Mom is Lonestar....it is actually one of my favorite's because it is what I believe would happen to most dads if they were left in charge of the little ones for lenghthy periods of time!
My hubby was the exception to that. He could change diapers, fix formula and keep up with three toddlers/infants with the best mothers! LOL
Richie McDonald has a unique voice and many don't like it. It not a really smooth voice like some of the other singers...there's just something about it that lifts my spirits!
