I tried going to the gym but I got some a bruise on my thighs from using the gym equipments. As I have read lately, going to the gym is not advisable since it doesn't really tone up the muscles of your body. Do you agree to this?

Most gyms will have staf who can advise you on an individual exercise program to suit your personal goals and capabilities. There will be an advised ratio of cardio to toning. They'll tell you which equipment is aimed at different muscles and advise on the number of repetitions/weight time/resistance etc.

i've had some experiences in the gym and i found that it may do harm to our body.it is said that the exercise is not scientific compared to natural exercises. for example, when riding the bicycle,if you stop your riding, you press the red button, then a sudden resistence will force you slow down, and it's a very unpleasant experience, easy to get hurt doing this.and if you've ridden for an hour, you will find some unease in walk or other daily ordinary movements. i prefer playing badminton or tennis to going to the gym. it will make a difference to our muscle. and often it's a teamwork that contributes to friendship.

I don't like going to the gym because that kind of sports are boring for me. I prefer to go to swim, play the badminton and so on. Besides, the gym charges expensive and I don't think I have patience to go there everyday. I don't need the muscles, I just want to have fun to do some sports. I love China

Where did you read that going to the gym doesn't tone up the muscles of the body? I would like to read it for myself. I have never heard nor read anything about that. And since you've only read it lately, I hope you can still remember where you got that information. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Going to a gym and following a workout routine is a good thing without a doubt, But it is more important to do it under the right supervision as wrong way of lifting weights can cause some serious damage to your body which takes a really long time to recover back. Take care.
