Not that i am against referral system , but i feel that when umpires can talk over to the 3rd umpires ,on whether the ball has touched the boundary rope or not ,why not the freedom be given to them to ask for 3rd umpire help in case of a contreversial nick or lbw decisions ,instead of wasting on referral system. There is no harm here ,because its the umpire's call and it also puts off the pressure from him while making doubtful decisions .
SO what do you feel ..please do add your comments
Cheers

It cannot be the umpire's call simply because umpires will be reluctant to refer decisions as it would lower their esteem and credibilty!
Don't u see how very few umpires take the blame for a wrong decision even after the match is over?

i feel referral system as something terrible.
lets see football or hockey.everything happen in a nick of time and the referees call is not always right but they dont ask for referral .cuz if they do,it takes out the paciness of the game.they take it as a part of the game and forget about it.
the same with cricket.as dravid said the rub of green sometimes goes with u and sometimes against u.
wrong decisions has been part of cricket for almost 100 years now.
u know what happened ever since run out was referred to the 3rd umpire.
almost everytime the fielder hits the stump, the ground umpire goes to the third umpire.it wasnt the case before 1992.the umpires knows that they can always go to the 3rd umpire and it created complacency
HOW MANY TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS HAVE U SEEN AN UMPIRE GIVE IT OUT OR NOT OUT WITH CLOSE RUN OUTS WITHOUT CONSULTING THE THIRD UMPIRE?
if they ask the third umpires for lbw and nicks, why the heck we need an on field umpire?[b/]
if they do make it,u get to see more decisions referred to the third umpire and believe me it affect the pace of the match very very badly.
