A game which is played by two teams of 11 players each on the rectangular, 100-yard-long field with goal lines and goal posts at either ands, the object being to gain possession of the ball and advance it in running or passing plays across the opponent goal link or kick it through the air between the opponent goal posts.

Hey brother, have you written this by yourself or copied the lines from some footbal site? Seems like a tutorial actually. But if you've written it yourself, you could go on to become a story article writer for any sports magazine.
Coming to your knowledge about the game, football like any other sport is ever evolving so no one is knowlegeable enough to judge anyone else's knowledge. Og god, its getting a bit too philosophical.
Nevertheless, its more than enough information if you've just started watching the game.
